Title: Power Commander and map for S2R 1000
Post by: "One-K-Duc" on June 06, 2009, 12:14:51 PM
I did some searching - but didnt really find exactly what I was hoping for.

I went to the dynojet page - and they dont specifically list my 07 S2R 1000

Im sure folks here have done this - I just want to make sure I get the right thing -

Also - what maps might be recommended??  I live in CO - so 5000 ft and above is my riding.  I have the DP ECU, Open Airbox and Spark Racing exhaust - full system

Thanks in advance!!

you're best trying out all the maps for m1000. do note that because you have the DP ECU, most likely all of them will be too rich for you since they are based on stock ECUs.

unless someone else has a similar setup with a custom map to give you, youll need a dyno tune.

If you already have the DP ECU and you're not making any radical changes, why do you need the PCIII? The DP ECU should be able to accommodate the changes you've made...

Thanks for the replies:

Since I went to a different and less restrictive exhaust (eliminated udder, etc...) the throttle isnt as crisp and backfires on every deceleration - (i personally dont mind the sound/noise) but felt it was an indicator that it wasnt spot on

Additionally - I "smell" like exhaust now - where I never did with the old system after riding - may not mean anything - but again just felt it was a symptom

Regarding the DP ECU - it would still need a reflash if I understand correctly?  based on a dyno run?

Thanks again - some of this is new to me so apologize for the ignorance.

the reflash....its a touchy subject.... ideally, ive heard some dealers can dyno it in house and reflash it on the spot.
if you're dealer doesnt have this capability, you are SOL. You're next best option would be to just fork up for a PCIII and get a custom dyno tune. Or if you're not anal about the mapping, just make you're own map that's -1 fuel across the board, load it and see how it runs. that could fix it.

In situations like this, is why i like Monstermash's offer. you could get it dynoed, and circle out where you have trouble points and just send it back to him to get it reflashed for free, and you'd have a decent semi custom map.

Some other things to consider though, with the new exahust, you'd want to have all your settings readjusted, namely the CO2, and the TPS.
