I have called every Ducati dealership in the USA and none of them can get me a set of the 5 spoke Marchesini wheels that ducati was selling for the 696, the rear wheel was 5.5" wide and fit a 180 tire.........................I need these wheels, if you have a set and decided that you don't really want them, let me know. I will send you $$ post-haste.

Someone here noted that they were discontinued. It was one of those buy them while you can type deals. The only person I know with a set is mrplease.
I think Ducati Saarland (Germany) still have some sets for 1349,95â,¬ (previous price was 999,95â,¬) [bang]

Hmmm why was it discontinued?
i was told they made one run of them and were discontinued because they weren't really selling, and once they were gone they were gone...
i'll sell you mine for $4000
:D
Well, now it will be a 'classic' and worth tons of $.
4,000 seems a little steep, how 'bout you just sell me the rear for 400.
I'm sort of kidding.................sorta

Why?
My thoughts too..... slapping on a larger tire rim means:
More weight
slower turn in
[bang]
Probably a silly question, BUT... have you looked at Marchesini's distributer list on their website? If wanted them really badly...say $4k worth of want...I'd call every distributer in North America.
I disagree with the whole idea that upgrading to a 5.5" rim affects handling and performance significantly. I put an ST4 wheel on my 2003 800Sie and all I noticed was how badass my bike looked after. It still handled well, and did not lower performance enough to notice.

Those wheels look like standard 5-spoke Marchesinis, though the rear axle looks small.
Not sure of the axle sizes on 696, but....
5-spokers came OEM on S4, ST4, ST4S.

what he is saying is that the wheels pictured, the wheels you bought, have been used on other bikes (S4, ST4, ST4S). the front also looks identical to the front on my s2r1k.
There may well be a difference in width or the like, not sure.
But they definitely look the same as those pics.
front & rear axle is 25mm. Same as the 695.
I've actually compared the two bikes parts diagrams. There's a spacer inserted on the carrier side, part 27 on the 696. That's the only major difference I see. Be interesting to get a 695 & a 696 side by side & measure everything up. You might just be able to use any aftermarket 5-spoke from a 695.
