Title: Wet Clutch to Dry Clutch conversion
Post by: MotoCreations on May 19, 2008, 01:02:31 PM
I've gotten a few phonecalls the past few weeks since RIP TOB.

Can someone (Stuart / Duck-Stew) post the steps / procedures like they did before?  I'd rather prefer to point people to this site instead for reference and knowledgeable enthusiasts. I or a mod can route to the "how to" section when finished.

Thanks

Here we go again....   [roll]  I've got to dig up the instructions.  Give me a few days.

Step 1:  Locate buyer for arm,  leg, and/or first born....   [evil]

A little off topic but will a wet slipper clutch work if converted to dry?

If you're converting it to dry clutch anyway, wouldn't it make more sense to use a dry slipper ? I suppose unless you already have a wet slipper clutch then that makes more sense.

It has been proven that it is more cost-effective to sell your wet-clutch bike and just buy the dry-clutch bike.

Not *really*...

Well, it actually makes the same sense as swapping a regular dry clutch to a dry slipper clutch.  If you already have a wet-slipper clutch....then swapping to a dry clutch is very-much a moot point.

Tell me about it!

Logic rarely applies to anything emotional like a motorcycle.

I just wanted to point out that it's not for the timid or the poor.

The big-motored cranks won't fit into a small case engine (IIRC).

Here's what I relate to:

I'm at like 400% of initial purchase price and the bike is in pieces YET AGAIN!  I'm so F'd.  Oh well! [drink]

I barely got room for the one. unless I park a bike inside my apt.

in which case, said 'parked in apt.' bike would be very, very specific. and a long term project type bike, at that.

I like my wet clutch bike. It keeps me from having to explain to all of the people that don't know about dry clutches that it's not a rod knocking and there's nothing wrong with the motor and that it's all supposed to do that.
