Including the Ti rotor bolts, Alumiinum cush drive nuts, QC rear sprocket and carrier, 520 chain, and the rotor, I've lost 3 lbs 14 ounces (about 3.9lbs) off the rear in rotating weight. Take away another 1lb for the Ti caliper half bolts, Ti caliper mounting bolts, machined caliper carrier and thats almost 5lbs of unsprung weight back there.
+ The forged marchesini wheel that is supposed to be 2lbs lighter :D almost 6lbs in rotating weight [moto] [thumbsup]

Nice. How much have you shaved off the bike so far?
Between the rear end stuff (6lbs), the wheels, (4lbs), battery (8lbs), removed some clutch housing material, Ti all over, front axle is 1.5lbs lighter, DP carbon seat (?)
I would guestimate in the 30-35lb range including the stock exhaust (15lbs)
And that, coupled with my 25lb reduced fatness (hopefully more coming soon), and it ought to feel like a new bike. I've got various notes and weights listed, I just have them scattered all over at the moment. After the bike is done I'll compile all of them on a spreadsheet and post it up. [thumbsup]

Were you also considering chopping the subframe and bolting up an aluminum subframe? I'm thinking of doing this on the race monster and waiting to see how much weight you save there.
It's going to be 12lbs for the subframe. I've already done it on a spare junk frame to get an idea if the trouble is worth it.

thats pretty substantial savings in rotating mass. how well do they stop?

Can't, it would be fabricated. I'm going to do it over the winter to mine. Just cut off the unwanted stock frame and weld on some mount tabs. then fab an aluminum subframe and bolt it up.

Both, sort of.
Chopped and weighed it. Also weighed the weld-on fittings AND the length of tube I need to fab the subframe. It'll be a touch lighter after it's welded due to the rod. We're talking maybe a half ounce...so negligable even in my book.
From whence did the rotor come? ;D
