I'm just curious about what type (leather, fabric, perforated leather, textile, etc.) of jackets y'all are riding with down there. I've got a leather jacket with a vent in the 2 front pockets and one along the spine that allows for airflow. But even at temp's in the 80's I'm sweating my ass off. (sweaty Irish guy) Can you fellas help me out with a recommendation?
Yeah, I have had leather textile with the same venting and it was no good. Now I have combo with lots of vents everywhere, and it is good. I know Mac says he gets cold occasionally in his full perf leather, but I have only gotten comfy. Maybe cool and comfy, but comfy all the same.
Brand is just what fits your body and your fancy, but holes=good.
thanks for the heads up
I use full perf, works plenty good
I've got two leathers; one full perf (white ICON) and one partial perf (black Alpinestars). Both of them are adequately cool IMO, but the black one just fits me much better. Let me know if you think you would be interested in the white one, it's just sitting in the closet.
on second thought...
if you reeeaaallly want to fit in, pick up some board shorts
gear? it's too make the beast with two backsin' hot for gear!
[cheeky]
Already stocked up on tank tops, board shorts, and flip flops ;D
sweeeeeet
but remember to sport a fancypants top end lid.

I wear a full perf vanson jacket (BIG perfs) (I said perfs, not pervs!) and it is perfect. Not sure how long the leather will last in the humidity though...

Perfs - pervs, it's all the same. Some say tomAto, some say... You get the picture.
And besides, aren't you the one that is always going on "work" trips to Thailand and the PI? ;)
I appreciate all the input from everyone. Now i can make a more informed decision.

Damn if that isn't the truth. Here I have a perfectly good, in fact great, handling bike & I'm already thinking about putting carbon wheels on it just to keep up with the Jones', er, make that the Upton's. It's sick man I tell you, sick. That's retirement money! [evil] The old superbike actually needed those things and I don't even like the design of the new model wheels. Maybe that's a good thing.
