Title: Looking for tank cover for 98 900 Monster
Post by: 118811 on June 16, 2009, 12:46:49 AM
Aloha All

I just picked up a 98 Monster 900
It is in excellent condition except for the tank. The turn stops were not adjusted properly
So the previous owner applied some dents
I was thinking about tracking down a cover for now
Any suggestions where to look?  eBay had a few but they were all located in France
Anything available in the US?
Thanks for all suggestions!!

I bought a generic magnetic tank bag for my Monster that would accomplish the same, but give you storage as well.  I know it will cover your dents because I had mine on when I dropped my bike and I didn't realize I'd dented the tank for two days until I took the bag off.   [bang]

I had a bagester tank bag and cover. It was great! Bought it new from local bike accessories store.

My new bike is so beautiful I can't come to terms with covering up the tank so I have this useless 'bum' bag on it that flops all over the place. [bang] [bang]

You can get them in different colours. Here's a pick of it (http://www.bagster.com/newcata/1405U.jpg).

Bagster is the French company that makes the ones on ebay..  IMO, they're hideous.   [evil]  They look bad enough on an (already ugly)  BMW R1150GS.  To put one on a Ducati would be sacrilege.   [laugh]

they're not dents!

they're...

speed dimples... like on golf balls...
