New rider looking for boots. I am not sure whether to get a pair of boots to go underneath my leathers or over them.
What kind of boots do you guys wear?
Patrick
My leathers go in the boots, my textiles go out of the boots.
Most leathers that are properly designed will be snug on your body. That said, most leathers are designed to go in the boot...
Leathers = Boots on the outside
Jeans = Boots covered
no leathers, but I found that the knee/shin armor in my dainese drakes will ride up off my knee if I don't have the pants well tucked into the boots. the shin bit juuust overlaps my sidis.
draggin' jeans w/knox knee armor, I'm fine w/them over the boots.
only have leathers, so boots on the outside - plus my Sidi's have carbon shin plates - got to let the sun shine on the bling!
My leathers are on the outside, they were designed that way.

This is how my gear works. My Tourmaster textile/waterproof gear goes outside, my standard leather pants go inside ~

I wear the SF leather pants by Dainese and it's easier to tuck the pants in the boots, so in they go. Whether boots are in or out may depend on the brand of pants and type of boot. Dainese makes boots specifically for pants to go over them.

Same here.
Leather goes in, jeans go out, heart on the sleeve (awwww)

Me too -- leather inside (wouldn't work any other way) and textile outside (wouldn't work any other way) -- though due to operator error I answered your poll "boots in." Yeah, I'm stupid like that.

+1...err, whatever number we're up to now.
I ride in Sidi Strada Evo Air boots.
It depends on the cut. Everyone's been focusing on the material.
Sport (for lack of a batter term) pants are close cut and designed to go in the boot.
Jean/Trouser style pants are looser cut and will go on the outside generally.
I've seen some textile sport style pants now and leather 'jeans' - even seen a set of leather bib-overalls... So just let the cut of what you're wearing be the determining factor really.
My Sidi boots work well with my sport leathers inside them and just as well with my armored jeans over them. Lots of folks like Sidi and they make a wider variety of boot, from 3/4 boots for casual street riding, all they way up to GP spec race boots.
Aerostitch has some cool boots as well if you're more into a retro/leather look

all this talk of leather...and things going in and out...... [evil]
[laugh]
Depends on what pants i have on and what type of riding im doing.
Shift havoc Pants go outside when commuting.
Teknic sport pants go inside for all other riding.
I ordered Dainese torque Air out boots. I imagine that I will wear them over my leathers and under jeans.
I will post a report when I get them next week. ;D
Thanks for your input! [thumbsup]
