Just wanted to give everyone a head's up that Jorge Lorenzo will be visiting the store on Tuesday, June 30th and will be available for signings between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. Yes, I know you all would rather meet Mr. Stoner, but he rides for that "other" Italian apparel company.
Come by and meet one of the rising stars of MotoGP!
Dunno...I think a lot of people here would rather meet Nicky. But he rides for that other Italian apparel company too ;D
Already replied in your BARF thread, but I'm havin' the hubby bring over my Yamaha tailpiece for him to sign. I'm really, really, really excited about this. Really. [thumbsup]

Awesome! I'm curious to see what he's all about in person.

I love watchin' the guy race. He's an excellent addition to the GP grid. As much as I have enjoyed the many victories with Stoner at the helm of the Duc, he's really not all that exciting to have out there. He either wins or he doesn't. He's gracious and plays by the rules. He's a lovely person, but I like someone with a little evil in them and some spunk. that's Jorge. [thumbsup]

What's so exciting about the Evan-ator wrenching on your 400?

Wow. That's really low of you to mock the handicapped, John. Really low.
Do you kill kittens for kicks, too?

Well, that kind of went without saying.
Interesting, I actually like Jorge more then stacy stoner or nicky. He doesn't whines like others. He has the skills, right attitude and quality to replace Rossi.
I will bring Noriyuki Haga along to make a day goes better ;) , I might be there if not ride to Santa Monica that week.

that's cuz your a blind mofo [evil]
He creeps me out as he's a dead ringer for my ex-wife.
Beyond that, I like his style, I sure as hell can't complain about this season being boring (and he's a big part of that)
Might be in [thumbsup]
I haven't found myself cheering for him ever, though I
do like how he has been unnerving Vale. I find that rather entertaining.
Speaking of Vale, where is the ITALIAN rider who is sponsored by this Italian Company?!

I hope your taste in women has improved.
I'll be out of town, but thanks for the invite Dan. Sounds pretty cool. [thumbsup]
I thought Lorentttttthhho was a douche when he was in 250s. But he's been a completely different person in GP. He smiles, he cracks jokes, he is even keel and still rides like a banshee. [thumbsup] He's a young 'un. Mebbe he's just grown up a bit.

We almost had Vale, but there were scheduling conflicts with a Yamaha event and that took priority. What? One GP star isn't enough for ya?!?
Will the Tattoo model be there, too? [thumbsup]

I have no sympathy for them. Hell yeah I expect a lot. And they better deliver--sans whining. [cheeky]

in this case, fiat = fooking inverted altitude testing.
His acrobatics are quite impressive. He seems to have kept the highsides to a minimum so far this season.

The "bring on the carnage" side of me is really disappointed. His get-offs are so much less brutal this year.

I'm so there! I love Lorenzo ever since last since season! He's especially fun to watch and seems balls-out crazy to me. Plus, I like his crooked little smile ;D We'll be there!
He did seem to spend a good portion of that season inverted.
And now I know why Dainese put Ti shoulder sliders on their suits. Kewl.

they tried magnesium, but the riders kept catching on fire.

It could be a titanium collarbone sparking.
<little girl squeal> I got my picture take with him </little girl squeal>
;D
I just a photo from Enzo! [thumbsup] (too small to see for sure...) Make him sign the Fizzer tail!
Came straight from the airport and just missed Lorenzo...but I did get to sample the pizza from the mobile wood-fired oven though [thumbsup]
I got a autograph and pic from him! He was sooooo nice! He has beautiful blue eyes and amazing skin! I was totally jazzed all day -woo hoo, tee hee hee ;D ;D ;D
I only got wind of some of the coolness that happened earlier in the afternoon, but when it was all said and done I left the store with pizza in my belly and an autographed tail section for my FZR in my hand. [thumbsup] Great gig! I was so glad I went. [wine]
So where are all these famous photos?
When I got there he ducked in the back room for a Red Bull or something. He must've known I had that Shanghai picture for him to sign.
Rossi's bike on the store floor was very cool though. I'm sure it's like his C or D bike, but still badass.

BG says it was a 2007 bike painted with 2008 livery and shod with Bridgestones. It's the same bike that Yamaha had at Miller for people to take photos on.
They also had the coolest invention ever in the back:

Yes, that's a wood-fired pompei oven...on a trailer. I'm tempted to rent that thing for GP.
BG told me you're taking too much crap already... ;D

Typical celebrity behavior. ;D He was in the back room watching GP races with his agent. I managed to sneak in there and have him sign a baseball cap for me. No pictures with the guy, but I'm not heartbroken. Still, he was very pleasant and gracious with the fans, posing for countless photos. On a side note, I found out he also speaks Italian.

Just watch me. We can cram your scooter into the porta-potty trailer.
I can't claim to have been a big Lorenzo fan, but I went and met him just to see. He was quite gracious and down to earth I have to say. Quick with a hand shake.
Interesting notes:
He said sharing a garage with V. Rossi is kind of a pregnant dog. He said Valentino is beyond competitive and doesn't take someone else so close on his heals in the same garage well. The little hand shakes you see after the races is pretty much all their exchanges. They do NOT hang out or talk at all, though their mechanics share info tech and settings etc.
I'm always taken aback by those so clearly on top who find it necessary to shun everyone like that. It's a bit of an exaggeration I feel, though I wonder, is that what it takes to get 100 wins?
End of the day, Lorenzo changing his tone and taking the time to hang with us a bit has done it's job. Not a bad guy.
Nice guy, actually. I think I got bonus points for at least trying to talk to him Spanish ;D
Imagine having to do those events over and over and over. While they're not difficult work, it must get irritating after a few years. Yes, he gets a fat paycheck, but it's cool when someone can put on a good face for the fans. I remember him being quite the brat when he was in 250's. I think he's matured a bit over the past couple of years.
I looooved him in 250's.
