Since I can't go for my usual three day camping extravaganza, if you call Top Romin for breakfast an extravaganza, I'm not too excited about riding down for Sunday with my perceived drawbacks of a day trip (traffic and parking mostly).
I know they'd put it on the tube at The Danville Bowl if I ask nice but that not quite the crowd I'm looking for.
Any ideas for viewing?
Locations Showing the Race
D-Store
Ace Cafe
The Dainese store in SF usually shows GP races. Or maybe Lanesplitters in the E. bay.
Not sure the D-Store will be open Sunday. Most of 'em will be at the race. I'm sure BG or DaineseDan will chime in.
That said, I'm SURE the Ace Cafe (14th/Mission SF) will show it.
I heard from someone that Ace showed the races earlier than a posted time once before. Don't know if that's true or not, but that would be a real pisser. Should folks call before if they plan on heading over to Ace?

I've never heard of that happening. And this would probably be a live broadcast ;D
I'll try to check with Rob when I get back from SLC.
I figured the D-store would be closed. Lanesplitters I'll check into and Ace will be nice. I remember something about Ace showing a race from a different feed and some spoilers got out.
There's always Ricky's in San Leandro but that place is such a mixed bag.
MAYBE Nichols' scooter shop in Fremont?
I looked on genuine scooters website for the Nichols address and they're not listed. I thought they sold genuines.
Ops, found it.
Nothing at Nichols.

Last week they said showings at 3 and 6, and ended up starting earlier. [bang] I'll post up on their FB group to find out what the deal is this time...
Showing from 3 to 6 according to their web site. But given that the race is supposed to take place at 2, I wouldn't count on a 3 start time. Plus it appear to be showing late in the day on speed.
O'great, so I watch it at home w/mega-interuptions AND I have to get my own beer or... bah!
OK, alright, not time to panic yet.

We'll be here! We'll be showing the race live at 2:00pm and will have free food and drinks on hand. Come on down!

Good for Rob!
Just got this off Cycle News
TV Reminder: Although Speed TV wil air Saturday's qualifying for the U.S. GP on Saturday nigth at 7 p.m. (Pacific), it will be Fox handling the live coverag of Sunday's MotoGP race with the show slated to start at 2 p.m. (Pacific).
Let's just hope & pray the Fox announcers aren't as lame as Ralph Shaheen and the imbeciles at CBS. [roll]
Yeah, that's part of the reason I want to watch it someplace loud. Shaheen's just lame.
101 is going to be a mess today with 4th of July travelers, Amerivespa, MotoGP and the Hollister push-rod crowd. It'll be like splitting lanes in a disaster movie with drunk zombies driving.

[laugh] [clap]
Truly - it's unclear which of those groups on the road will pose the greatest risk. Prolly the scooters.
And Shaheen's insistence on calling the GP racers "drivers" about pushed me over the edge permanently last year. I kept praying someone in the booth would dope-slap him, but it sadly never happened.
Just got an update from Ace: They are showing it at 2
