Title: NYC Motorcycle Laws
Post by: He Man on June 29, 2009, 06:16:46 PM
Any of you guys know what the law is for chasing motorcycles? Is it not allowed?

There was a band of 5 dudes on 2 stroke dirts with no helmets, no license plates doing wheelies past cops in squad cars and in metermaids the cops just kept on driving.

Meanwhile in the real world, im getting ticketed for no license plate lamp.

I don't know what the pursuit laws are in NYC, maybe they can chase but choose not to because they can't catch?  I am curious now if they can chase.  Anyone know?

I know that they have chased me down on highways for speeding car and bike.  They also chased me down on local streets in the car.

I don't know the law but i don't see dirtbikes as very easy to catch.  Hell it is probably downright impossible with a car.  Also since those 5 were out on bikes with no helmets or plates you know they intended to run there is no way they are stopping.

In philadelphia i used to see people riding around on quads and dirt bikes through the streets all the time.  Nobody ever gave a crap.

i hope it doenst get as bad as baltimore suburbs. down there, its a plague. It pissed me off pretty hard core to see that shit happen.

Ironically, the area that it happened in was also a major motorcycle check point area.... right of the FDR makes no sense does it? If your legit you can get tag but if you run, no ones going to stop you.
