So time to start planning the barbie day some time in the next month or so.....
How about early August (weekend of the 8th & 9th or 15th & 16th Aug)?
And to those with kids and sports place you preferences for Saturday or Sunday?????
Ok Trev, we have check our calender and the 8th and 9th and the 16th of August is fine with us. We have also checked and there is a regularish ride on the 1st of august will this still be on. Mark wants to know is there a plan for a ride before hand, as i will not be able to ride. Anyway bikes or cars are more than welcome. [thumbsup]
Going in August I have a saturday preference.
As to a ride I'll go if you go Betty.
Had a good little one recently there was 10-11 of us out for the day.
Guessing it would be best if we ride North and gather up there for a BBQ after.
Betty was talking about full leather on Lillie [laugh]. yeh whatever i sure he will be up for it.
saturday is fine with us see what everyone else can do
We'll be in, but will need to check with Broni regarding what's the better date.... Be back to you shortly.
More than likely no ride as Broni is getting bigger and bigger with Dory in the tummy, and I'll need to drive us to the event.
I also assume it's going to be up your way Juls?
yes Nick, it is up our way in our back yard
Those dates sound good. Count me in until I go girlie and change my mind due to work travel.
On leave tomorrow for a few weeks, but back in time for the big day out!
I'll come along too.
Those dates are fine for me.
Just one thing - City 2 Surf is on the 9th and may mean chaos through the city.
I'd like to try and see how much salad, cold cuts and frosty boys I can fit into my bike bag!
Sorry for this - but check out some of these recipe ideas..............

Brett
Well that's given me some new ideas to try out in the kitchen - not! Think I put on a few kilos just looking at it. ;D
cool guys the more the merrier
Will be along for sure, gotta see that scare!
what about Viince hey where has he been
we'll make sure Dock is there - he needs to cook the bbq after all!
thats right and i have a 6 burner built-in bbq with a wok burner
So a quick stir fry on the side then!
Awesome, BBQ! I'm in, whenever it is.

cool craig what about Steph is she up for it
Okay we need a date so how about Sunday 16th August as the City to Surf is in the 9th and I know you all will want to run that one.... [cheeky]
So Jukie and Betty how about a 11:00am ish start, Barbie on at Midday and people can come and go as they wish but lunch at 1:00pm ish...
Those who want to ride, can, and those who wish to cage it, can......
We have some cash in the kittie which will go to food (I'll sort that out with Goldie).... [popcorn] [bacon]
So do we have an all systems go on Sunday 16th Aug???? [thumbsup]
okay so Betty and i have done some thinking. Sunday the 16 is fine and also the 15th, if it is not too early (the 11:00 mentioned would be fine).
Betty can meet people at Pie in the Sky at 11:00 and then ride the old road to our place and be there for 12:00. If anyone wants to come early i will be at home getting things organised.
So Saturday or Sunday the 15th or 16th August is ok, i will let you guys sort it out between yourselves [thumbsup]
15th-16th is fine for me. Pie in the Sky no problem, will be on bike unless the sky is unfriendly.
Big T money coming to the kitty this week. ;)

Hi all,
Please excuse my ignorance (I've been away for a while) but I've been cruising back through past threads and can't find anything to tell me what's with the scar and the need for a recovery BBQ. :o ???
Hope all are now OK.
hey Ducmeister,
whilst i was in Italy i was going to do a ducati tour around Tuscany, unfortunatly i had a bike acco and had to get rushed to hosiptal. Check out the Incident in Bolonga thread and that will make some more sense. So the guys in Sydney are having a recovery party for me.

Holy crap!! :o :o :o
And here was me thinking that "Incident in Bologna" was all about some Moto GP happenings so I didn't bother reading it. Well, I read all 7 pages and all I can say is "that sux!!"
Jukie, I really hope you're starting to feel heaps better and that both of you will get the opportunity soon to head back and have the holiday that you planned to have. [thumbsup]
Big hugs from the 'Meister.

I have another Monster owner (ex-workmate) who will be joining us for the morning ride up (hope it is still the plan) and will hang around for a little while.
Betty, please tell me that it is Stephs' 'bun in the oven' that counts as the 1/2 and not your new reference to our darling Jukie now that he's missing a bit of her anatomy. :'(
Nah, I think the half was Nemo. If we started counted buns the count would climb a couple higher.
As for Jukie ... even without a spleen she can still be more person than some are prepared for.

Yeah that's what I was thinking ... and a mini-convoy would help with finding the place.
Of course cars can follow the same path.

Plus a certain someone waiting at home would make us still at 12.5 I think.
If we leave PITS together & travel travel in convoy I can guide the way. If we leave PITS together I can lead the way from the end of the Old Road once I have caught up. Does that seem reasonable? You don't have to drive the Old Road, but why not?
So anybody else interested in coming along? Or anybody I have missed?

Ori isn't 100% yet Matty as you know, so could be sitting the kids again. As you know they can be a hand full... so let you know later next week when i get a better picture of Ori's condition.
In any case Jukie isn't my friend any more :-\
hhmm we will have to see on this dock. you did make a promises and i did warn you remeber if you break it that i would not be happy.
I may cage it if I bring Luca along, otherwise biking it.
Luca is only small can't you strap him to your back or the bars!
Enjoy your day guys and gals, I'll be in sunny Thailand. ( My last day as a single man).
I won't comment on marriages in Thailand announced only a week in advance ;) ;) ;D
All the best for your big day (I mean your last day as a single man). Commiserations to the new bride [cheeky].

No offence taken, it has been a long time coming, just the two of us flying to Thailand tonight to do some organising.
Second time round for both of us and being older and (a bit) wiser decided to forego all the "expected" things and go and get married when and where we want to and do our own thing.
Apologies if this is a bit of a threadjack, but then threads going off on tangents is kind of standard for this forum. (and for some of the riders too I believe) oops... sorry Jukie. ;)

What? Never!
We actually did a similar thing all those years ago. It does tend to make the day more about the two of you and not the expectations of others and the resultant stress of doing it the 'traditional way'.

After chatting to a few people there seems to be thought to bring the meeting forward to
10am at PITS, cause you know what where are like blah blah blah and it'll be midday until leaving.
If we can be at our destination before midday to prepare food and gas bag it would give us all more time there.
I am also adding one to the total but she doesn't eat that much! I also hear there might be another two on the list.
Does the timing sound fare? Oh and I'll be in cage as Annick is coming along and isn't a pillion at all.
10:00am at PITS works for me...... [thumbsup]
Can always do a few laps in the twisties on the old road if were to early..... ;D ;D ;D
fine by Betty and Me
I won't be able to get there until about 10:30ish. If that's too late I'll make my own way up by myself.
Brett
PITS it is.
BTW I know where you live Jukie as I road past there yesterday in the pissing rain..... :( :( :(
There was no need for that I the way past you could have just tooted and waved....
So people, here's the plan:
goldFiSh and Jukie/Betty are sorting out the food and non-alcoholic drinks. We have a "kitty" of money that should cover the costs for the day. if not, we'll ask for a small contribution from all attendees.
Six95 is taking care of sweets, and Mostro can you take care of tea / coffee?
Alcohol and andy special dietary requirements and BYO.
Food will be a simple BBQ - snags, steaks etc with some salads and the like...... OK, maybe there's a couple of other things we will be whipping up, but it won't get too flash.
Broni, Nemo and I will be caging it up in the new weapon on wheels, and we aim to be there for 10.30ish to do the final preparations on the food.
Looking to have the food ready to go for 12 midday, as we need to cater for Nemo and his midday (ish) sleep.
So, as far as numbers we have the previous 12.5 + Annick + 2 tentative others. Let me know if anything changes to the number count as I'm purchasing food today!
Tea / coffee ? Got it. I'll be caging so if anything else needed, just let me know. Tiramisu ?
thanks Ivan for that, i just hope i have enough room for all these cages ;)
yes jukie with all those cages turning up the neighbours will think youve got normal friends [cheeky] :-*
... unlike the time we had about 30 bandidos and their bikes in the driveway ...
(but that's a whole different and surprising boring story)

My mate won't be able to get to PITS until 10:30 as well. So does a 10:30ish departure from PITS sound OK?
Trev if you get bored waiting around a few loops between the bridge and the pie shop should keep you entertained.

Ah shit, that was me ... not Jukie ... login/logout does my head in sometimes [bang]
One other thing if you are coming by car ...
We should be able to accomodate the number of bums coming, but if you have a favourite portable chair it may help to make it a little less crowded if you could chuck it in the car.
I think we are still all meeting at PITS then the end of the Old Road, but if you want any details/directions let me know.
Thanks guys ... only two more sleeps.

Thank you to everybody for a wonderful day.
The last couple of days (besides the few little bike/scooter issues) have been like living with a 5 year-old in the lead up to Christmas. The Boss was certainly looking forward to this one and like she said it was the first 'party' held in honour so a huge thank you to everyone. Shame about the 'incident' on the way up.
Special mentions:
. Goldfish for all the food prep and cooking (helped by Dock) - huge effort! [thumbsup]
. Matty for the shirts (Julie was so impressed she is going to wear it to work) 8)
. Six & Mostro for supplying desserts [clap] ... dis-honourable mention for Mostro bringing a coffee machine to a BBQ [roll] ;)
. Big T for all the fundarising, etc (stemming from the cake fund) [bow_down]
. Everybody else who has contributed to the day in any way - even just best wishes [wine]

You know you are both very welcome.
It was a great day and yes total kudos to Nick for all the food prep.
I know he might say it was nothing but there is no-one like him when it comes to food prep for a BBQ.
We really should do it more often, maybe even dig out that old thread of a gathering for all.
Maybe it is time for the greater group to get together.
[thumbsup]
found out Friday that i still have fares and cabin on the spirit to use so look out super bikes , hopefully we can have bigger bbq some where with you northers [thumbsup]
Hi all,
Thanks all for a great day, we all had a ball, especially Nemo, he was asleep within minutes and didn't wake up until we were almost home - not even for a little old road shenanigans up to PITS (where I pulled over for a milkshake for the Bronster). Lucky for me, the fact that the car is new, a sleeping toddler in the back and a very preggers wife in the front kept the speed in check, the popo were lurking at the top just before PITS...
Did someone say centennial park? should we plan for a Jan outing, gives people plenty of time to plan?
Yep Centennial in January.
You and Woppo can bring your little coal fired greenhouse gas cookers, which do a cracking job.
I'll be on scone duty along with other deserts.
There will be two new little Oz Monsters for all of us to meet by then.
Thanks guys for a great day! Fabulous place for a barbie, party, whatever!!
How's that espresso treating you Jukie ? Caffeine still running through your veins ? [coffee]
January guys ? ...like 6 months away ? how about a little closer to 2009 and sometime in November ? ???
Jan gives a little time for the new Oz Monsters to be ready to meet you rowdy lot!
And there's the GP, and the silly season in between.
