I'm looking at adding one soon. Wondering what my best option is here. Not a big fan of the side mount dampers. Really dig the Matris, but will it work on my S4 with my setup? Stock top triple and cycle cat risers? Also when I upgrade the triple will I run into problems with the mounting?
Read somewhere that there is a damper that mounts under the triple?

everytime I feel I need a damper, I check my wallet......the need for a damper goes away very quickly!!. [laugh]
Had a few times where my bikes gotten shaky. Have some BST wheels coming in this week and figure it will get worse with a lighter front end... ;D

Well, you'll be pleasantly surprised then. I found going to lighter wheels completely eliminated wobble.
my damper didnt make a huge difference in riding performance. but it is much more stable, i can ride all day long with one arm and never have a oh shit moment. also helps keep front end planted when accelerating through turns.
^^And when that pesky light front wheel comes back down off-center. :o
I def. could of used a dampner today.
If any of you have rode out of the city (Chicago) on I-290 you know what I mean.
That road literally has speed bump size rises that come outta nowhere [thumbsup]. Their was one that literally moved my front wheel back and forth
enough for me to almost crap my pants (this at 70+mph). I am guessing a dampner would help in this issue alittle, just cant shell out the cash for
one monster specific. Plu I have a aftermarket triple and will not put one of those side mounted things on any bike I own. Might have to get creative with one off a junked sportbike or something like I did on my old CB750 cafe bike I had a few years back..
Recent customer's experience, not a Monster but FYI:
Track day at Fontana, one particular bump in a corner was making the bike unhappy.
On the fly, he cranked the damper tighter, bike was much happier.
Session ended, came down the hot pit lane, went to make the left into the pit area.
Damper was so tight he couldn't make the turn, biffed it into the wall.
Bent the frame... unrepairable.
