any body have and info on how much lighter than stock the ducati performance pressure plates as well as say the rizoma/speedy moto ones are?

thanks dude... that was very informative... i will prob go with the rizamo or stm star pressure plate becasue they look sweet and light weight... the clutch basket will come later...

The difference in the pressure plate is minute, but it adds up. Going to Barnett Clutch pack saves a few ozs. but the big hit is the Aftermarket Baskets, mins is about 16oz, and the clutch hub is around 15oz comapred to ~3+lbs each. engine revs much more freely then before. Throw in a light weight fly wheel and youll be pretty shocked.

Agreed. When it came time to choose an aftermarket pressure plate, I went with speedymoto due to the fact that they fully protect the springs and posts. After seeing bikes that had gone down with DP or other pressure plates that leave the springs exposed ending up with a destroyed clutch, I felt the protection was more important than a few ounces wait loss.
But as mentioned before, lightened flywheels make a huge difference

With the addition of an aluminum clutch pack (like barnett) you can shed a few pounds of rotating mass. OF course, swapping out the basket and hub is much more involved that a pressure plate.
heh. I posted that up and someone bought the last one. i had to wait a few days before they posted it back up!
I got both the basket and hub for $212+shipping. The Hub came a bit damaged (looked like someone dropped it on the edge) and I emailed them about it. They said if i ever need any parts from them again, remind them of the email and they will "take care of me". So maybe this is a good time to use that oppritunity to group buy some CHEAP ass hubs and Baskets. $100 bucks? dude, you got to be kidding me, that shit is cheap.
The only advice I have is to beware the cheaper baskets with the tiny retaining screws. They ask for locktite on the tiny screws and then end up being a pregnant dog to take out without destroying them.
The Vee-two looks okay in this regard.
vee-two uses this system. you are absolitely right baout them stripping though. Even though they are stainless your tool is usually much harder. mine are lock tited in. if you ever need to take them apart, i HIGHLY recommend you heat it up with a torch and then use a star bit.
or you can just give it a bit of extra toruqe, and apply lock tite on the surface of the ring. its enough to keep it from shaking loose. just keep an eye on them.
