I finally got the time to sign up for an MSF course...I will be starting it on June 5th!!!! ;D
Moto license here I come!!! [beer]
Congrats.
I went through a course to get my license last year. I learned a lot and it was definitely money well spent.
Good on ya mate!
You'll leave the MSF course a smarter safer rider!
[thumbsup]
knowledge is power
It's a fun time! Enjoy and good luck.
If you haven't already - check out the Riding Techniques section. There's some good info there as well as a number of book suggestions to help supplement what the MSF class teaches.
Taking the MSF is definetly better than nothing, but there's plenty of great info out there that they just don't have time to cover.
Congrats, have fun... and get thee some gear.
Money well spent, thats all I can say. Everyone has a good time doing the MSF course.
Just wanted to throw in that the MSF is a good course for even those that have been riding for a while~
After being away from bikes a while, the MSF course was a great refresher. As a bonus, I got to practice on their 250 Rebels instead of my new S4R.
Too many new riders take to the streets without the knowledge they need to survive. The safety course will get you headed in the right direction.
JP
Good move..!! [thumbsup]

not everyone has a good time doing the MSF,
especially one of the women in my class :-\
she rode off course, almost ran the instructor over, and dropped it several times.
she stated in her intro to the class that she already had a bike :-\
Man, this day just gets better...I just scheduled an interview for a new job tomorrow ;D
Good for you! [thumbsup] Looking forward to your report after the class. [moto]
Good on ya! [thumbsup]

There are people that actually died in accidents during MSF classes... mostly from falling and hitting their heads, once even an instructor. I'll try to find the link where i read all the MSF accident profiles.

don't scare the newbs :o
Haha, no intention on scaring anyone. And if i did scare anyone, think of it as a wakeup call. Just pointing out that man + machine will always have a potential for [bang]. Like the lady who got her legs chopped off on Space Mountain in Disneyland.

deweey, have you been in contact with my mother??? If I say "motorcycle" she says "head injury."
Great. I have the riding portion of my MSF tomorrow morning at 6am. I'll be sure to enjoy. :P
I'm two for two - the day I bought my bike I had to travel 95 in MA by a ducati superbike wreck. The night before my class I stumble on this thread. Good omens!

most likely, you are going to do just fine, good luck! [thumbsup]
I thought that class was pretty good when I took it a few years ago and learned a few things even though I had been riding bikes for years.
You won't regret it.
Congrats enjoy the class!!
