I have 900Sp and a 916/996, and i just got this charming 696 monster-which i believe qualifies me to be here, even if it's the petite Ducati. I've been a motorcycle mechanic/service manger, small-time motocross racer, guitar maker, and man-about-town. -I'm not sure what i am now, but like small furry animals, raindrops, and power tools. I also like to make stuff up.
I just bought the 696 two days ago, with 9 miles on it. (from a famous actor who wants to remain nameless.)
And i know one of long-time regulars here. (who probably also wants to remain nameless- or at least deny that he knows me.)
And i prefer anonymity as well. (in case any parole officers see this site.)
I've ordered a Vince exhaust for the 696, 'cause it's too quiet to properly enjoy, and doesn't scare the neighbor kids.
I've wised-up and now trying to post pics....'cause without pictures, it's just not true.
the first pic is new/stock 696, then after i changed-out the tank logo to the old-school style--

Welcome Zippo,
You seem well-rounded Duc enthusiast & I share your affinity for power tools.
You can follow this link;

It will show you how to post pics.
You will see that on this forum nothing "counts" without pics!
So lets see the collection!
Welcome zippo, what a good-looking bike collection! [thumbsup]
Thanks for sharing, hope you are enjoying the 696. :)
Glad to see you got the pics working!
Sweet bikes!
Is that an XKE I see in the background?
Do I win the car!?!?!? [laugh]
That is, in my humble opinion, one of the most beautiful cars ever built, alongside the convertible model, and practically the entire line of Aston Martin DB's.
i'm not that humble!-i just say the most beautiful etc,
the XKE convertable is nice, (and these days more valuable) but they loose the whole roofline of the coupe..
I think the Ducati 916 will be every bit as much a classic-they're just not old enough yet.

Wish I was "in the market" for one.
Are you familiar with these guys? http://www.eaglegb.com/ (http://www.eaglegb.com/)
They "modernize" the E types. Really cool. Although it may offend you if you are a purist.

yessir..Mine has all the sporty high-performance upgrades included-modern head /cams/ larger valves,( re-built to look orginal) custom 5-speed, Wildwood alloy/ vented brakes, new alloy suspension, alloy flywheel, stainless headers, etc. half of the stuff isn't installed yet.. -which is half the reason i'm selling it, no time....
I'll bite, how much?
That seems like a REALLY good deal but still not in the market...it would have to include a divorce attorney cause my wife would flip!
I'd forgotten that the back opened that way.
Welcome! and nice collection <drool>
