Hey guys my name is Sean and I'm from NOVA (Northern Virginia) and I have a 2004 Monster 620 i.e. Only been riding for about three months and I am loving the liberating feeling of being on a bike. Definitely trying to learn as much as I can particularly in the tech areas as I really want to do as much of the work as I can on my bike. Looks like I need to do some stuff right now as the previous owner had it sitting in his garage for a long time, clean carbs, etc.
Thanks all and I'm looking forward to discussing everything possible with you.
Sean
welcome to the board!
Welcome Sean, glad you are enjoying your bike. [moto]
Feel free to post up your questions in the Tech (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=4.0) forum, also check in with your local group, CAM (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=20.0).
Have fun, ride safe. [thumbsup]
Thanks guys! Definitely trying to ride safe and I appreciate the welcome.
Take care.
Welcome climber. Lots of friendly, helpful people here, so you should be able to get answers to most of your questions.
BTW, 620 ie= fuel-injected. No carbs to clean [thumbsup]
Swampduc - I was under the impression that the 2004 620 i.e. had carbs? If it was fuel injected it wouldn't have a choke right? I'm still new to this so please correct me if I'm wrong in my logic!
Thanks!

The fuel-injected Monsters have a fast idle lever, which most of us treat similar to a choke. Put it on to increase RPMs when the bike is cold to keep it from stalling, then turn it down when the bike is warm.
However, it is not a choke, it just adjusts the idle speed.
Hope that helps. :)
