It's Zeitgeist time. All are welcome, monster or not, rider or not. New faces are welcome! You provide your company, we'll provide tamales, beer, porta-potties and lies about how fast we are and how much we know about bikes.
For entertainment, Tigre'll be giving clinics on how to pick up 'geist bouncers. Mostrobelle will explain the finer points of consuming found beer. Michael Moore will explain your Social Security benefits. Drunken Monkey will try to polish every piece of metal in sight. Ya know . . . the usual.
Date: Thursday, July 30
Time: starting around 6:30ish and going til whenever.
Location: SF at Duboce and Valencia.
In.
In. I need a drink [drink]
I hope it stays cold like this... [thumbsup] cold nights at Z = good times.

If you like. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Seriously though, I have some questions on this newfangled shit. Like how do you adjust chain tension on them single sided swingarms, and like that.
Isn't it an eccentric? Rotate the eccentric and the chain tightens or loosens.
Let me ride it around the block and I'll tell you.
(two pinch bolts on the rear axle hold the eccentric in place -- loosen, then rotate to desired tension, then tighten)
I can't wait to not have to adjust rear wheel alignment anymore on my racebike. ;)
Ah, good. As long as I don't have to loosen that fookin' huge axle nut at 230nm, I'm a happy guy.
Sorry for the threadjack. Now back to your regularly scheduled beer...
I have a 2-foot breaker bar for 180Nm. I suspect that would require an impact wrench and/or a 3-foot breaker bar.

Yes, it's certainly too bad that you've never gotten to ride a Streetfighter. It's quite something I'll tell you. Oh, but that's right, you haven't ridden a Streetfighter. Not like me. Cuz I've ridden a Streetfighter.

Well, I know for sure an 18" one won't do the trick. I may just get an electric impact driver and be done with it.

And congratulations, DQ! Best wishes, BG!
Good Times! Great to see everyone, and Belle, seriously (did I spell it right DQ) write a book [thumbsup]. The ride home blew, but had a major benefit. It was misting so bad that I had to keep my visor up, which kept me at the speed limit. Thanks to my dumbass luck, coming down 101 after the GG Bridge, all I could think was.."this sucks", then two seconds later a CHP passes me, while I was being a law abiding citizen...as always ;D.
Moral of the story...thank you San Francisco Summers!!!

Great turnout last night! My sides still hurt from laughing so hard at TCK's foul jokes. Why is it that Mostrobelle and I are the only regularly-attending chicks at this monthly shindig? Are we anomalies or something? I guess you boys have yet to find a way to really gross us out/bore us to death.

The girl siting down near Spidey gave me a look as if she'd dig out my eyes and use my skull as a toilet if only she had a spoon. Then she told you guys to get your helmets off her table... haha, one chloroform joke and she's all up in arms.

Message-ID: <v04210115b8c4582077db@[192.168.1.1]>
OK, so I'll be visiting San Francisco over Easter, and I suggested a
while back that I organise a get together with some San Francisco
Mostros - I've so far seen interest from:
Erin R
Mike A
Michael M
and
Dr Daffy
I'm thinking Tuesday 2nd.
Hows 7:30-8:00pm ish sound?
Everyone welcome, even only wannabe monster riders (thats everyone
who doesn't already ride one, right?)
The plan is drink, talk about bikes, drink some more, then talk more
bikes (though the agenda hasn't gone to the printers yet, so the
order may change :-)
Zietgeist is on Valencia and Duboce, and looks like this:
<http://www.sonic.net/~wwpints/zeitgeist/exterior.html> (link thanks to Mike)
(Hey, I live 10,000miles away, what am I doing giving directions to locals???)
There's a reasonably recent pic of me here:
4cb4068d32ff6c1f686cd0>
(sorry about the long url, and watch the wrapping on it...)
Hope to meet some of you!
(I'm particularly hoping Erin turns up, mostly 'cause I'd like to
meet her, but at least partly because we can all use her spectacular
hair to find each other <GRIN>)
cheers,
big (Oh yeah, there's most likely going to be some Burningman talk too :-)

As you probably figured out already, it's an interesting vibe. Their T-shirts boast warm beer and cold women. Still, for bars with outdoor seating within 3 blocks of Munroe, it's hard to beat. [moto]
