Nice way to turn on a pal, Pal. (actually, they are quite nice, but I wanted keep up the illusion of gayness for those who are unfamiliar with us)
Boobies are definitely the way to jack a thread!!!
Ok, this is NOT going the way I intended. :-\
Changing the subject ... 8)
Am I crazy or this makes sense to others as well?
When I originally wanted to get a Monster 1100S for 14K and then I saw the brochures for the Streetfighter and the regular version is only 15K, I decided to go with the Streetfighter. I cannot justify the 4 grand price difference between the regular and the S on the Streetfighter though.
Don't get me wrong I love the 1100S and I have ridden the demo at PJ's (with the Termis, sweeeet Lord it sounds good!) multiple times, but $1000 for 155 hp instead of 95 hp. Too tempting, too tempting!
What's you take? ???
To quote a good friend of mine: "There is no replacement for displacement.". When it comes to things like this, I always have to ask, how do you ride and how do you want to ride it? I mean, really, some people just want to do good lap times at the track and all they need is a 600cc engine. Some people want to go super fast and that just won't do. You have to be really honest with exactly what you want the bike to do.
And that's my 2 cents.
Make sure you test ride them both...they are quite different.
Buy what suits your riding style and what you feel the most comfortable with.
Don't forget to hang with the right crowd that is willing to show you the ropes when
it comes to riding skills. I was fortunate to hook up with the NMMR crowd.
the streetfighter definately has the gangster appeal and its a lot faster up in the top rev range than the monster, but it depends on where you're planning on riding, i'd compare the street more to a inline 4 sportbike where as the monster is your typical low end twin. do you like immediate grunt or gobs of power in the top of the rev range? both do nasty wheelies and the brakes are overload on both also, i prefer the street just because i like the superbike chassis a little more on S14 and through the twisties, but the monster is more fun in ton and the mtor is easier to ride.
that's my take, but just wait till saturday to buy... jk
