Title: new from Az
Post by: bennett on August 21, 2009, 07:08:37 PM
so ive been riding all my life. started racing dirtbikes at 4 and never stopped. had a harley, some crotch rockets and a buell, but i have always like the monsters. i currenty dont own one but i am looking and  i joined here to figure out exactly which model im looking for. i like the real simple stle of the older 620's thru 750's. i really dont know anything about these bikes but ive been reading up all day and will keep on doing so to try to avoid asking stupid questions you all have answered hundreds of times. so far this site rocks.

That is a slightly modified Monster S2R 800.  Not sure what year.  Looks like it has aftermarket boom tubes exhaust, carbon fiber front wheel fairing and bikini fairing.

Those are good air-cooled bikes.  Keep in mind there are plenty of engine choices for monsters.  Yours can be had with a suberbike 996 or 998 engine or an air-cooled 620, 695, 696, 900, 1000, 1100, etc...

the motor isnt too much of a concern. im not much of a speed demon. these days im about style preference. for instance i want one all black, but a black frame is a must and i can paint the rest. i do enjoy the single swinger. ill mostly be cruising city streets witht he occasional mountside ride. so it appears im seeking an s2r black with hopefully a 900

Looks like what you want is likely a used S2r 800 or S2R 1000.  These are both great bikes that are pretty easy to wrench on.
