I noticed some threads you had/have an 848? Did you mount these on that bike?

No, but I'm looking at some of their expedition bags for my K and possibly for the gf's Bonnie.  If I still had my Monster with high-mount pipes I'd likely go for something like this guy's setup:

got the contour last week. they fit perefect for someone who packs light and still has leg room for a passenger. though if you dont know how to pack it in, all you could fit are 2 pair of a sneakers and  4 jeans max.

thinking of tryin the saddles. (and it says safe for highmount exhaust, there is heatshielding on the sides)

I picked up a used Cortech Sport Tailbag from craigslist for $20. It's not the biggest bag in the world but if you can creatively pack, you can fit a lot. It's held on by bungies with plastic hooks on the end that fit perfectly around a Monster's frame.

Found this photo on Flickr (yes, it's more than just porn...).  Single bag on the left side.  I sent the poster an email asking where he got it, but it is a European location.  One of these, a tank bank and a tail bag ( I like the Fieldsheer Expander, currently selling for about $55), and you could be out for a couple of days.  Well, as long as there were gas stations every 100 miles.
