So, sometimes when I'm pushing hard in a corner the front tire washes out and loses traction. Every time this happens the bike falls on its side. How do I stop this? [laugh]

D'oh! Why didn't I think of that! [bang]
Trike...
You're supposed to save it with your knee. Dani Pedrosa almost pulled that off at the Indianapolis MotoGP race.
I had a friend once that saved a front end slide. it was in the mountains in Italy with no room for error, his front end washed but somehow he turned the bars that it flicked the bike up and he held on. it was a early 90's Ducati. i don't remember many more details. but i do know that a few months later he broke his femur in a crash on the same roads when a rally-type car was coming down the mountain and cut his lane off on a righthander. somehow the evil motorcycle god was mad he saved the front slide :(
You can double your front traction really easily:

l :o tell me your kidding right??
"Suppose" to do nothing with your knees in a crash, your not riding anymore, your crashing. Scares me to think some of you have devised "techniques" for crashing other then get the @#% away from the bike and getting orientation.

he just steered the wrong way in the last video while laying across the windscreen. duh.
I still think you should get a trike... ;D
Check the Ducati Performance catalog for part number 7548869p. It's a set of training wheels, but it only fits two models. Since your bike isn't one of them you'll have to buy a new 1198R or Desmosedici to try them out.
You can tell the S.O. that Cloner made you get it (as long as I can ride it once). [beer]

As one of the Spanish commentators says: Que bonito!
Seriously I find the safest thing is to only go straight. Corners are for losers.
