Title: New (to me) Ducati Owner
Post by: IndyDuc on August 29, 2009, 03:53:37 PM
I started riding this summer and quickly had a spill on a tight curve that I misjudged.  After insurance totaled my 1999 SV650 with only 5000miles, I began my search to get back on a bike.  Today, I purchased a 2000 Monster M750 dark that I love.  Quite a different ride than the SV650, much smoother, not as much low end torque, the bike doesn't get as angry when I'm I don't have enough RPM in a higher gear, and it sits a bit lower to the ground.  I'm taking it easy as we (the bike and I) get to know each other a bit better, but I'm very proud of the bike, and I look forward to our time together.   I'm going to the motoGP tomorrow, and I'm excited to see all the great bikes there.

M620D,

Thanks for the response.  I saw that you live in Panama.  I'll be in Panama visiting my father in law later in September.   He and my brother in law built a house on an island off the coast of David where he has begun a fishing charter business.    His business is on the island and it is called Propiedad de Paradise on Isla Parida. If your interested, you should check it out sometime.

Take care,

Thanks for the invite, but, just by  reading, I know I can afford it...

I'll be traveling for an undefined lapse in time to Miami, my grandmohter is very sick and I'm thinking on starting a small motorcyle bussiness in Panama...

Had an accident in Januray and still recovering, both of us, me and my bike...
Enjoy your trip down here... Is hot and humid...avg temp 95  and avg humidity 95%

Welcome IndyDuc, congrats on the 750. [thumbsup]

I'm sure we're not surprised you prefer it to the Suzuki. ;)

When you get a chance, check in with your local group, Hoosier Hooligans (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=39.0).

Oh, and we love bike pictures, so feel free to share after you get back from MotoGP.  Have fun! 8)

I'll get some pics on here soon.  The bike is very standard, but I still love it.    Once I get the pics taken and put it on the forum, feel free to give me some advice on upgrades.

Wanted to give an update on my recent experiences.  In regard to my crash, that i mentioned previously, I sent my Shoei RF-1000 to the company for analysis, and was excited to get it back with a signed letter stating that the helmet suffered no internal damage and is still safe to wear.  Shoei provides this service at no-charge.  I have been surprised by the number of individuals and moto dealers (including my local Ducati dealer) that are unaware that this service even exists.  I feel like spreading the news.  Other helmet manufacturers may offer this service, but very few people seem to be aware.  I will only buy Shoei helmets for the rest of my life.
