Joe Volpe
27 from Brooklyn
Used to have a 90' Honda Nt650Gt for less than two years
Had to sell my bike back in 04 to buy a car and looking to get back into. The correct way this time as I never had a license, registration, insurance etc. Signing up for MSF in Nassau seems like the way to go unless you guys say otherwise.
Joined the forum in hopes of group rides that dont involve "stunting" and running from the cops, which most of brooklyn groups tend to deteriorate to.
welcome to the board jophus.
check out the locals in your area over in the locals section.
Welcome Joe, as herm said, please check in with your local group, NYMMC (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=28.0).
In general this board tends to promote pretty responsible riding and gear so I think you'll be able to avoid the squids. ;)
MSF is a good way to get back into it. [thumbsup] Have you picked up a bike yet?
havent picked up a bike yet, waiting for oct, nov, dec. Sorry to say but i plan on preying on either a dealership or an owner looking to dump a bike. Definitely want to go used ducati. Love the 848 but think its way too much for my first sports bike (price and power). I always had a love affair with the 748 and i feel like it would be the best investment of the group (As long as a catch one right after or well before the next needed valve adjustment) but again not sure its a good choice for my skill/experience.
I think a great compromise for me might be a s2 or 4 r. More upright riding position but still plenty of hp so that if its my bike for a long time i wont get tired of it at all. Plus the single swing arm for me is a must.
Thanks for the welcome joined the forum for tips on different bikes (riding experiences as well as maintenance) and so far im very impressed by the knowledge thats being shared. Another part, as i previously mentioned, is the opportunity for group rides as i feel much safer while riding with at least one other person (more visible....visually and audibly)
