Title: Tail Bag/Luggage for 2010 Ducati Turismo
Post by: Ozmonster on September 05, 2009, 01:40:57 PM
Hi Guys,

I know this is probably somewhere in the forum I just cant find any detail, Im looking for a tail bag and some advice on how much space I would need for clothing and bit and pieces for the 2010 Ducati Turismo in Tasmania http://online.saneevent.com.au/ducatiturismo2010/ (http://online.saneevent.com.au/ducatiturismo2010/)

I would first ride to Sydney which is +- 1000km from where I live to take the ferry boat across to Hobart.h Thats a 2 day ride, then do the Ducati Turismo which is from the 7th to the 11th and finally the 2 day trip back.

Do you think a tail bag will be enough, Ducati sell the 18L tail bag which converts to a back pac for taking into a hotel when needed.

What are your thoughts and advice please, I know its still a bit away but need to start buying some gear for the event.

Ill be taking my 09 1100 monster.

Thank

I have the Ducati Multi-Fit 14-22 L tail bag. I don't know if it will strap on a M1100, but this is what I was able to pack, without issues (just to give you an idea of what 22 L can hold.

On pair of shoes, three underwear shorts, three Tshirts, two pair of socks, light pants, large towel, camera, phone/charger, tool set, tyre repair spray can, flash light, rubber gloves, bulky two piece rain suit (at least one third of the volume), maps, toiletries, half a roll of toilet paper and some other things I probably don't remember.

If you end up needing more than what 18 L will hold - get a cargo net to fit over the bag.

i like taillbags, they hold lots of stuff, and stay out of the way
might also want to look at Givi, they have new line of touring stuff specific for the M1100
