whilst looking at porn (white S4Rs) I've found examples of them with white opaque tank and pearlescent white front and rear fairings....
anyone seen this?
I generally look that hard when looking at bike porn. :o

Two girls... EXCELLENT... [thumbsup]
Do you have them tethered in the car park?? I might drop in at feeding time... [wine]
Ita ;D
Thanks for the help Ita, yeah it was a good gift...but they obviously ran out of money...I mean the girls were barely dressed.....so what the hell am I going to do with them in that state - first thing first, get so big blankets to keep them warm.
oh, yeah, no drugs people....I have pictures of un matched pearl bikes....weird!
I don't know if you are aware (you most likely are) but the two whites on my Tricolore are unmatched. The Seat Cowl and Fairing have white pearl and the tank is plain white. I believe its because the tank is actually a red tank with green and white decals ??? It doesn't answer why Ducati would do it but the Tricolore 1098 is the same.
Maybe this will help explain!
truly bizarre - $25,000 for a bike and the paint doesn't match ???
I thought the multiple shades of gold would P me off...but combine that with the white (and the different grades of carbon!) and no way!

really....what doesn't match of the desmo? :o
(I'm in shock!)
As a side note, check out most of the Toyota range, and even some of the Lexus models, if you order them in White, the bodies and bumpers don't ever match.
Bodies painted in one place, bumpers painted elsewhere and then bolted together.
Toyota White = Fail
When one of the worlds largest car companies with such massive brand loyalty, and they can't even basic white right, what hope do you think Ducati have got! [cheeky]
Yes hello...
Does paint on metal... Steel or alloy look different to paint on plastic or carbon fibre or fibreglass??
Ita
surely with the new non-steel tanks it should be a consistent finish, when discussing paint with a guy down here he never asked "is that metal or plastic, sir"....but of course did mention that all 3 pieces should be done at once!

Shouldnt, its all in the preparation!! Dare I say its sorta like foreplay, gotta be done right, or the finish wont be good. [thumbsup] [cheeky] [clap]

for 6 figures, you're allowed to be PISSED! [bang]
you'd figure Ducati could get
red right. eh?

It seems the paint contains some fluro yellow and the different surfaces give a different reflection [roll]

Ok ok... I'll go to Bunnings today and get a can of TTFU... (Toughen The make the beast with two backs Up) :-[
I've just ticked over 1000kms... I did 52km the other day out along the Gardiners and Scotchmans trails to Jells Park and back... [moto]

i've yet to see a white duke with matching panels, i just love the tri colour, but with pearl bodywork (mostly) and plain white wheels??? nope, besides, i love my s4r too much to chop her in. ;D
as for different materials being different shades? yep, it happens, a lot! even using the same primer will give different shades, the only way around it is to prime, rub back and prime again before top coat colour, and not many factory paint jobs have that much time and effort spent on them, unless it's an aston or a ferrari. :-\
paul. [thumbsup]
