I'll be racing in the final AFM round of the season.
I'm in a points chase in Open Twins -- where I could finish anywhere from 4th (current position) to 2nd (stars align). Also -- with Matt Green sitting out the last round, I am the favorite to win the race!
I'm also in a points chase in 750 Superbike -- I could finish anywhere from 6th (current position) to 4th (realistic, but need to run well).
Race 1 - 750 superbike - ~9:45
Race 3 - Open Twins - ~10:45
Race 9 - Formula 1 - ~2:45
You gonna tell us it's on Sept. 20 or you gonna make everyone guess?
Seems like you got it. If guesses so far are any indication, seems like I don't need to tell folks.

Woot! I should be able to make it. [thumbsup]
Good luck!

Anyone want to volunteer to drive a support vehicle to bring my "B" bike back from the track on Sunday? If I don't need it for Open Twins, I shouldn't need it at all.

I might be able to do that. Call me.
Is 'Blacky' (1198S) on the track yet? Is it striped yet?

So, how's the Friday track report on the Black Beast? (or Bestia Nero if you like...)

Still getting acquainted with the new bike. Suspension needs a little tuning. I want the lower offset triple clamps. I was geared WAY too short. I want a 19x20 master cylinder + some real racing brake pads. That said, it showed some potential.
Riding a wheelie up the entire front straight under power is intoxicating. :)
I finished 2nd in Open Twins in the race today. It was cut short after 4 laps due to crashes. Nick Hayman was among the crashers. As a result of my 2nd and his DNF, I made up more than what I needed to pass him in the points and finish the season in 2nd place for Open Twins (up from 8th place last season). [moto]
750 Superbike, I had a shot at finishing 4th or 5th in the points. 4th wasn't going to happen because one of the other guys had a GOOD race. 5th probably did not happen either -- we'll see when the results are posted, but I suspect I held 6th for the season. It'll be close -- by like 1-2 points. That's up from 13th last season.
Formula 1 -- I had a fun race and finished 6th. I was 11th last year. I suspect I will move to 9th -- but could slide into 8th depending on how the points shake out. It'll be close (again) -- like 1-2 points.
Wow. Excellent work man. [thumbsup]
I don't know what was up at the track. All the racers decided to get together and make it a grand ole crash-fest. I lost count of how often the ambulance went out, but I never saw any rushing to the hospital and no helicopters, so I guess it was all OK.
What a great ending to the track season though...couldn't have asked for a prettier day at Sears. We had a good group out there and Steve's Open Twins race was a blast to watch. Although I'd be rooting for Tigre regardless of where he places, it's nice that he gets to see some rewards for all the hard work he's put in during the last several years. [beer]
Looking forward to next year! [thumbsup]
Very nice work today, Steve. It's good to see you moving up to where you belong...on the podium.
Congrats Tigre! I hope DQ's boisterous enthusiasm wasn't too annoying. ;D

[laugh] At one point Ev and I were talking with him and when he saw Steve glance at him he got up mid-sentence and took off to go help. [cheeky]
w00t! Excellent work! Its great seeing you persevere with that "lil bike that could." [laugh]
The new bike must be mind blowing. [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
Joe was a hero. Big help throughout the day!

Yes -- I can ride a wheelie up the front straight under power with the new bike. :)

Nice work Steve [thumbsup]
Hopefully I'll see you this Thursday so I can buy you a beverage [drink]
congratulations Steve [thumbsup]
What a season! Steve, it was amazing watching you improve this year. To get second place on a middleweight bike is pretty cool. Next year on the 1198 will be awesome!
Doh... if I had not coasted on the last 2 laps of 750 superbike, I would have finished with 2 more points, and ended up 4th for the season instead of 6th.

Don't sweat it Steve. Open Twins is your prize, and you had a kick-ass season.

Doh... if I had only coasted on the last 2 laps of 750 superbike and not gotten tired, I would not have been trying to pass Nick Hayman in T9 when he took me out. I would much rather have had 2d in OT than 4th in 750 SBK.
Fixed.
True. Thanks. :)
It all would have played out slightly differently had I pushed hard on those last 2 laps.

Yeah, it could have played out a lot differently...you and bike are in one piece. I'd say it all worked out. [thumbsup]
Congrat's way to go Tigre! [clap]
