Or, things that are popular or widely appreciated, much to my confusion and disappointment
Really expensive watches.
Now, I understand that it is conspicuous consumption for some, appreciation of craftsmanship for others, but to me, it is ostentatious, overpriced mechanical jewelry. I hate wearing jewelry.
Also, Kanye West, Twitter, NASCAR, modern country music, and bottle service, but mostly really expensive watches.
I like some of the modern country music
I'd like to have an expensive watch... but I'm a cheap ass and not big on bling in general, so I don't think I'll ever have one
the watch I do have is a wind-it-yourself, swiss pocket watch. and I appreciate the craftsmanship in it
I don't get kanye, or nascar, either
I hate how they can get rid of a totally awesome show like the Unit, but leave a lame ass show like big brother on the air.
What is bottle service?

I'm not that hip.
Bottle service started in the clubs to offer people vip type feeling in a non vip area, the only time it makes sense is if you dont know the promoter of the high end club you are trying to get into and you WILL NOT because your a nobody. But tell them you want bottle service and you get past the line you get a table, and a $20 bottle of booze for $400. split between 4 friends it sometimes make sense.

What if the dog can't/shouldn't walk for medical reasons?
I had to carry around Grover when he had broken his legs, I'd only put him down to do his business.

The Unit was cancelled? Dammit...
I don't get douche bags who pay $80 make the beast with two backsing bucks for an Ed Hardy or Affliction shirt. They all look ridiculous.
Here's another: morning radio talk shows. The ones where some pop music is looped in the background, and they sit around riffing on the day's pop culture news. Typically, they are 20-30somethings doing their best high school student imitation.
A year or so ago I didn't get how the US could have a strong economy when we don't manufacture or export anything...
Now I don't get why many of us are going through life isolated and drugged by easily obtainable comfort without any hindrance at all from any idealism.
I also don't get why I have friends telling me to lighten up [cheeky]

They're stopping the Unit? The season finale left it open to continue though. Damn, there goes my Sunday nights.

um,........i dont get it?
I don't get how my wife of 15 years told me that she doesn't love me anymore.
I'm not perfect but everyone we know is shocked by this revelation.
We were always looked at as the perfect couple by friends and family.
What have I missed? I just don't get it...........

I'm with you there mate, I feel your pain.
You can go looking for answers, I tried, but that didn't get me anywhere.
4 years later though I'm out the other side and in a wonderful relationship,( in fact we just got married)
I know it's hard to imagine now, but it will get better.
That's what i don't get, I was in a wonderful relationship,
we both were, we were peas in a pod and best friends.

that's not what I meant, paula... there seems to be this disproportionate amount of women in my town with these small, yapper-type dogs that are too pretty to get in the dirt, so they carry them around like flippin' handbags on walks.

A couple of things you can be sure of. It wasn't anything you did or didn't do. Women, with the notable exception of our Ducati riding forum members, weren't blessed by their maker with enough clutch disks in their gearboxes. Nothing we can do about it and it happens to the best of us.
And, the main thing is that time heals all wounds and it will get better. Lots better.

Some people do grow apart.
They find that the Status Quot is no longer what they find fulfilling in their life .
They look at life from a different perspective.
Things that used to look one way no longer look the same to them anymore.
Something has changed inside them that can't be explained.
At least 50 % of the people who fell in love and got married , one of those people no longer loves the other and in many cases ....hates the other !
Dolph :)

Sorry to hear. That's almost the exact situation as me. Try counseling. If that doesn't work, move on sooner than later. My future ex moved out over the summer, but most people think we are still a family b/c she is still part of our kids' life. She's crazy. I got the house AND the kids AND she pays me even though she makes less than me. There's a silver lining somewhere in there. Good luck.
Ciao
I don't get why we have to boil everything down into a cute, TV friendly catch phrase. I was already starting to hate the phrase, "these tough economic times" but I just heard Rachael Ray use it with that big ass grin on her face to promote some cheap eats show.

Yeah, I couldn't lunge for the remote fast enough after Chef's vs. City. :(
I understand how scissors can beat paper, and i get how a rock can beat scissors, but theres no make the beast with two backsing way paper can beat rock. is paper supposed to magically wrap around a rock and leave it immobile? why the hell cant paper do this to scissors? screw scissors, why cant paper do this to people? why arent sheets of college ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they take notes in class? I’ll tell you why, because paper cant beat anybody. a rock would tear that shit up in 2 seconds. when I play rock, paper scissors, I always choose rock. then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say, "oh shit im sorry, I thought paper would protect you, you asshole."
why isnt there a water option? water beats them all.
water erodes rock, turns paper to soggy pulpy goo, and rusts scissors so they dont work.
and fire.
fire would beat them all too.
even water.
^ Well, we have to play fair. If fire or water beat everything then each player would show fire or water each time (how do you make a fire symbol?) and each game would be a tie. Like trying to tie both shoes at once with one hand. Like most serious players I'm very disappointed in the lack of mature thought behind this question.
all professional players of ro sham bo know better than to let maturity get in the way of victory
besides, if you do the math...,
R(1) = 0 n-1 C(n,k)*R(k)
R(n) = 1/p(n) + Sum( ------------- )
k=1 (2^n-2)
n!
where C(n,k) = --------
k!(n-k)!
clearly fire should be included
8)

what about spock?
Thanks Herm,
That cracks me up. A friend of mine was playing rock-paper-scissors with a 3 year old and that little kid was busting out hurricanes and all kinds of crazy stuff. Let's not stop with fire.
