Got good news?
Post it up here!
Lets see if we can fill more pages then rants and complaints.
Here is my good news.
I teach Red Cross classes and do it 30 to 40 hours a week. I have been feeling bored and lack challenge in my work. I will now have scheduled office hours. I will have my own cube too! I will help out in the office and take over some tasks from our scheduler and also manage the 2 Vista volunteers in our department.
This is great news [thumbsup] More hours, less teaching, and more face time at the chapter will help with my career advancement.
we get our counter tops Friday :D
We leave for vacation on Thursday! 8)
I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to geico!

We did 32 runs on the shoot house today. 18 exterior explosive breaches, 9 interior door explosive breaches. Multiple shotgun breaches. 2K plus rounds expended. Got home with all my fingers and toes. [evil]
My bike is running great after I got it back from the shop, and they did all the work in one day! ;D

Good news/ bad news. Just got a new GPS/Fish Finder/ Depth Meter for the boat. Bad news is I have to pull the boat out of the water to install it...
Found out that starting next month I am going to be leading the counter-terrorism shop in my unit.

Good news: The IZ's will be in town and now THEY can deal with Brian for a while! ;)
Or better yet, have the IZ Professional Moving Services (PMS) help me move (which I'm in the middle of)! What timing!
[clap]
I live in a condo, end unit.
The "end" faces out on a nice wooded area. There are no windows on that wall.
Just found out a bartender at my local watering hole's boyfriend is a carpenter/contractor, and business is slow.
He will charge me 400$ labor to install the windows. I think that is a score.
we are giving up our thanksgiving week trip to fund this, but in the long run, this is MUCH more important and worthwhile.
Did you check your association to see if you are allowed to cut a hole in an exterior wall? It's not like owning a house where as long as you don't make any structural changes you don't need a permit...

I'm on the board ;D
I have already sent a proposal to the architecture committee.
My neighbor across the street (end unit) has 3 windows on his wall.
Don't see why he can have them but I can't.

I know the doc, you're in good hands...
Great news with one of our recent responses to an RFP. From our liaison: "Just talked with <contact> and of 5 RFP responses <your agency> is in the top two. They definitely appreciated the effort and attention to detail in the proposal."
We have a conf. call with one of the VPs of this very large software company on Friday. Woot woot! Small victory.
Work went well today. [thumbsup]
The world didn't end on September 21st. I guess that's really good news. [thumbsup]

you've seen those hands...and have a clue as to where they've been.
OTOH you're young and healthy...
not to worry. ;D
I did not hurt myself OR get spackle on the couch when I fell off the ladder spackling last night ;D
I think my motivational method of drinking a beer every time I get more spackle out of the pail would work better if I didn't leave the stuff that required a ladder for last.
Tonight I'll get to see the results of beer-fueled spackling. ;)
I have tickets to the Ohio State game tomorrow... go Bucks!!
Weekend full of wrenching, riding, bike dealer event, bike/car show, women and music!
Life is good! [wine] [clap]

i may be 5 days too late. but how is that good news? I might have to go kill my self after i process the images from those two words, followed by the names. AHHHH!!!!!
In other good news....no wait. In my world there is no good news, just not so bad news. When this year is over hell, will freeze!
I'm about Halfway done now trying to change the head gaskets on the POS Chevy diesel. Major turning point [thumbsup]
I am not leading a counterterrorism unit and thus don't have to train, sweat, bleed, go on airplane trips, or even out of town. [thumbsup]
I have small white pills and wine at my disposal. ;D (Just ran out of beer though)
Oh, I have enough wood split to last this winter & next.
And one of the best things is, that after the E320 got rear ended at the stop sign, the other lady's insurance paid for the repair work and I got the bumper replaced & painted that was already slightly damaged.
It is Blue Moon time. [beer] With Randimus. [thumbsup]
That is all.
the vegas trip went so well... today, i got a bonus 8)
Time to resurrect this thread.

Got a Free Birthday dinner at Benihana. Chateaubriand and Lobster tail. [thumbsup] I do this every year with my parents. At least this year there wasn't a table full of screaming grade school kids making me deaf. lol Had a lot of fun.
If you want a free dinner there on your B'Day, sign up for it online. It's a great deal! http://profile.benihana.com/registration/ (http://profile.benihana.com/registration/)

[coffee] [drink] Aaahhh. Just had my first cup of espresso out of my new Capresso machine. The old Krupps gave up on me a couple months ago, and I've been drinking cowboy coffee(or Turkish if you prefer) out of a sauce pan since. Man that first espresso was just out of sight!
The owners of Makers Mark (Jim Beam) presented my son with a bottle of their finest whiskey
with his image etched on the glass in full Mad Men attire, they got a good photo of him somehow
Sonny and his Ad/Marketing Agency helped manage them through their insane watering down fiasco/crisis (they mis-forecasted their production demand badly)
on he got them back on track with un-diluted product, (anyone remember New Coke?) his advice was make it high demand and raise the price
he tried to steer them away from the dilution path but they didn't listen until the whole web exploded in outrage
He is now trying to get them to market their un-aged white whiskey
I'm on Day 5 of my juice fast. (nothing but vege's & fruit put through the juicer)
So far, I'm feeling great! AND: (biggest thing for me) I'm 5 days free of what used to be a daily stomach acid-reducing medication. [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
I have finally quit drinking soda! 47 years after my mom put it in my baby bottle [bang]
My tags arrived in the mail today!!!!
Getting married to my best friend on Saturday! :-* you Baby! (even though you're not on the DMF anymore.)
That, and I'm on Day 9 of my juice fast. Still no stomach meds, have lost ~ 8 lbs and feel GREAT!
Congrats Duck Stew!

Stu - Sounds like things are looking good!
Saw this the other day. It's called Ghost and one of my local stores stock it.
June will be a good month. 1. Week long moto trip with a cabin at the NC foot of the Cherohala. 2. 7-night cruise on the largest cruise liner in the world with a balcony stateroom.
