Why is it some monsters have that really nice sounding whine (supercharger-ish) whilst others don't.
Is it a problem with there bikes or is it some secret bling?
It's not particular to any engine type either.
few things here, timing belt tention, clutch wear, type of exhausts.. etc.. my open belts cant compete with my clutch or exhausts for noise, but every now and then they peak through.
Hmmm, my duc started to whine like it was supercharged a couple of months ago. It's been in the shop for a few weeks now waiting on new bearings. Looks like it was a bearing on the shaft that drives the cam belts. I no likey this noise.
is this when accelerating on engine braking (gently)?
When accelerating - easy or hard
oh, and faintly when at idle too
Maybe some of those rare bevel drive Monsters? :-X
Have you noticed it on an Ozmo bike ... I'm a bit worried a problem I am not even aware of. Anybody that has seen me ride knows I don't have a supercharger [cheeky]
Haven't noticed it on any ozmo bikes.
I really noticed it when we went to the concourse. Everyone was using Victoria road as a drag strip and there were some pleasant sounding whines, some louder than others.
Is it an open belt cover thing do you think?

Is this while braking?
Could be different.

Nope. Just gearing down. And only in first. Definately engine noise. No brakes.
Hey Justo
That's why a lot of us wear ear plugs for [laugh]
Same as my 4wd turn up the MP3 and sub woofer [laugh] cures allot
If it's running OK no oil leaks and no real big crunchy munchy sounds. :)
Just leave it.
Mine makes a different engine noise weekly and more worrying after i have worked on it. [roll]
I have concluded it's a Ducati thing. ;)
When the missus/girlfriend sees you ogling the extremely well built and attractive young female wearing THAT "Little Black Dress" oh so well, and walking/strutting her stuff( [bow_down] ), and starts having a sook about THAT tart (You know what I mean dontcha?? [evil] )
Is that what you would call a "Gear driven whine"?? [thumbsup] [cheeky] [laugh]
it's when the missus see's my credit card bill and says "what's all these international transactions"
and I say "just gear for the bike"
and then it starts.....
MMM........Gear driven wine.......
Mick now thirsty [wine]
