Title: Chain and sprocket setup
Post by: MAXdB on October 02, 2009, 12:06:23 AM
Can anyone recommend a good place to get a replacement set of sprocket and chain for my s4rs (SSS). i checked with the local dealer and it seemed a little steep.
I remember when i had my R1, i was able to get a 520 chain and sprocket set (steel front/aluminum rear) for 150--I realize this isn't a Japanese bike so it may cost more especially with the SSS setup but I thought i'd be able to find something close to that cost.

I looked up how much a new oem 520 sprocket is from the dealer, they are about $220.  :o

If your intrested, i have used 520 41t rear sprocket from an s2r800.

the rear sprocket is the expensive part...the front sprocket and chain should be the same prices as your japanese bikes....
also take a look at the Supersprox Stealth for the rear sprocket....it is cheaper than the OEM part or a carrrier/sprocket combo
