Title: What do you guys use for your EZ-Pass?
Post by: JasonV on October 02, 2009, 03:13:05 PM
Think it's about time I get something for my ez-pass for my Monster.  Too much fidgetting and time to try to dig it out of my pocket upon approaching the tolls.  Have seen some mounts online but not worth the money the are charging.

Velcro glued under the seat, painted black.  Works great.  Been on mine for a year, no issues.  Just get some good velcro

Really????  I don't know if there is enough room under my 696 seat.  Will check it out.  Gonna suck if it doesn't work when I try it.

hhaha would suck pretty bad if it doenst work. But if its registered to your bike, and they snap a pic, i guess they can just charge it?

I need to get myself one. I would just velcro it to my headlight. lol

i finagled a license plate model and put it on the forks with zip ties.

i don't get the discount for motorcycles, but i don't care.. the square one sucks.

if you have it on your person or on your bike and coast thru and it doesn't read, it's fine, they'll read your plate (make sure it's set up correctly).

if you're stopped, make sure to show it to them and say it's always read in the past..

I have had it on my person, in my pocket to be precise, but hasn't worked.

I know I ordered the one for the motorcycle when I registered the Duc on their site, not sure if it gives me the discount or not.

Problem is, if you remember, the EZ- Pass lanes have the damn gates, so you can't just ride through.  Also, the Dyckman Street toll on the Henry Hudson is fussy.  If I see your bike Sunday we will figure something out.

Are the EZ pass radio activated or something?

I forgot what I put, think I just said other?

yeah, Duacti isn't listed. you just have to put "other" the plate is all they care about and that's how they make sure it;s a motorcycle.

wherever you mount the ezpass, make sure it;s somewhere you can snag it off  relatively quickly.

I had it ziptied to my coffin a few weeks ago, and it didn't work going through the GWB. I had to take it off to give to the bridgecops so they could smack it to get it to work.

I've tried several spots on the bike. The best was zip tied to the forks like Ducatiz mentioned. I did this on both of my monsters & it was fine with the external e-zpass.

On my gixxer, I put it under the rear cowl & it worked perfectly. On my 675 I had it under the side cover of my right fairing - doesn't work at all. Still looking for a good spot for it now.

If it wasn't for the stupid boom gates, I'd just keep it zip tied to the bike somewhere as I'm happy to let the cameras bill me. I still don't know why almost every entry into NYC has boom gates, it's retarded.

Ziptied to the Triple is the best way to go.  Mine always works.  Make sure you get the one for motorcycles the discount is much more than 50% for some tolls.

traffic flow control.  they actually tune the speed of the opening and closing depending on the time of day and rate of traffic.

you ONLY get the bike discount if you get an Ezpass with the M logo.  The license plate type are not for bikes, you will not get it.

I had one for a motorcycle, it has a huge plate with an M glued to it.

When you register for the EZPass you register your motorcycle and get a specific tag just for the MC.  Like Ducatiz says it has a GIANT M on it.  I have 2 tags 1 for my car with no extra badging and then one for my MC with the giant M on it.

Just called EZ Pass after reading this post because my second tag has no "M" on it.  They told me it is programmed for motorcycle but that it won't be marked.
