Title: Question
Post by: Jester on October 05, 2009, 01:49:21 PM
I have a question about the AMS trackdays ( private ).  Do they allow bikes of any make for these events?  I would imagine so, but I'm just curious anyway.  Not that I have another make, but the thought crossed my mind.  Anyone know?

That is a good question. I think we all know the "euro only" rule for their normal track days. But does that still count for the private days? Anyone? If it's open I may have to show up with my armada of Jap SBKs! [laugh]

Come to think of it, I think Renee from Motopia had his BMW at one of the private days, but other than that, I can't think of anyone not riding a Ducati before.  I've seen a few people have backup bikes that weren't Ducati, but don't recall them being ridden.

Part of me thinks its really meant to be a Ducati customer type deal, specially since Jeff is the one hosting the thing.  I was just curious.

You're probably right. That would make sense. But then again, business is business. If me and three friends all had TZ250 road racers and wanted a private day with Jeff I bet he could make it happen. $$$ talks. [thumbsup] If I remember next time I see him I'll ask.

Good luck getting him to allow it....  If I'm not mistaken, a friend of mine had signed up for a private day but had his 748 at AMS for service.  They kept it longer than they expected and it wasn't ready for the private trackday... They told him he couldn't bring on of his Suzukis... Funny thing is the private days are on member days, and he is a member...

Under those circumstances why would he care? Of course I suppose he can do whatever he wants. It is his deal. If he wants to exclude you because of the tires you have on your bike I guess he can. Whatever... [moto]

I thought I read on the Nov 1, track day that it was an Italian track day, not euro....  Maybe they're getting more strict?  I dunno....  Last year was euro, now it's only Italian

They did not seem to have an issue on our rain-checked private day in March when we brought UJ's 675, but I was on the Hyper as well.  Everyone else there was on an sbk.

Answer: Members @ MSR who sign with Jeff ...gray area...public who sign with AMS's private track days, Ducs and maybe Euros.

Italian Track Day, all Euro bikes accepted.

That's a good question for sure.  I remember going to a private day at ECR, and there was a guy that brought a Duc and a Buell...and he put both on the track that day...

that's because everybody feels sorry for the buell guy, might as well let him go try.

(note: kidding. he's probably faster than me if he was on a unicycle)
