Corbin or Sergeant seat?

Corbin seats never soften - they're church pew hard.  Rode it for 20k miles and still rediculously hard.  I wouldn't buy one again.  With my Monster, the best seat out there was the DP "Comfort" seat and it was significantly cheaper than either a corbin or sargent.

I had a Corbin on my Roadstar for 9 years and loved it but now have the DP seat which is too soft for me.
I do hate their prices though.   [bang]

My sargeant isn't the sportiest looking thing but damn is it comfortable.  It's firm enough to be supportive and soft enough to prevent ass ache.

This has been the topic of a 200 page thread on the General Monster Forum. [laugh] People are very divided on the topic and the DP gel seats are always thrown in the argument/discussion. For good reason.

First off I have never ridden/owned a Sargeant seat. I have owned several Corbins over the years. Had 'em on my Concours, FJ1200, ZX-11, etc. Currently have one on my RC-51 and love it. Yes, it's very firm but the shape is much better than stock and besides it's not my sport touring bike. Although lots of RC owners on RC51.org have logged tens of thousands of miles on them and love them. Last I heard Corbin was selling the company and some folks thought the quality was waning.

I do have the DP gel "comfort" seats on my 999 and BinB Sports1000. They are definitely an improvement over stock also. I have considered getting one for the S2R1K but the right deal and timing hasn't presented itself. I know Lisa loved her Monster DP seat and I think George had one on his 695 but I could be wrong. I know Swanny has them on his Monsters... I think??

I like the DP seat for the monsters except when you don't have a white towel to cover it with when parked outside in the summer.  Damn thing will roast your arse.

I have heard the same feedback on the other seats....very hard but better than stock.

I can't make up my mind but I know I'll keep the DP until I find a deal on one.  No way in HELL I'm paying $500 for that little pewny seat when my Hardley seat cost that price.
