Riding to work yesterday and felt the bike jitter for a second. When I pulled over i saw that the rear bracket that holds the rego plate and lamp was missing. It was held on by 2 ferrels which were bonded into the carbon bear tray.
By the time I walked back to pick it up it'd been run over a couple of times and pretty much stuffed.
Thinking that I'll replace it with a aluminum fender eliminator which bolts to the same mounts as the bear tray in lieu of relying on the ferrels in the carbon.
I now riding around with the number plate attached to the rear frame with cable ties and no light! hopefully the boy in [leo] won't take a disliking to the temporary arrangement.
In Victoria...cha ching $$$$$$$$$$$ [leo]
Fortunately managed to get around yesterday without getting caught by [leo]. Hope I will be able to talk my way around a ticket if they don't like the temporary arrangement.
In VIC if you want a standard issue replacement plate, it'll cost you $27.80.
If its a custom jobbie that'll be $75.
Well that's a bugger, particularly that it came from me/Vince.
Hope you can get it fixed quickly.
And yeah where you been huh ???

Danno, I lost one recently too ... but it was just the plate that came off from the aluminium fender plate. Luckily I had my automatic plate retriever with me ... she had gone and picked it up before I even realised I had lost it.
The plate is only a standard one but its a bit worse for wear. i'll need to get a new one and I've been thinking of getting a black & white custom jobbie. Now just need to come up with the lettering.

That's not very original [cheeky]
what about dano7
I'm sure all the good options are taken.
Are here any rules on how these things are done?
Do you mean in terms of what is available?
Keep in mind that a custom plate will take, I think, a couple of weeks before it is available. You can also test what options/content is available online:

knowing dragon it will be clever [bow_down]
Iiiiiiittsss.................."WOG ROCKET". Named by a supervisor at work. I promised myself I wouldnt succumb to the ripoff of a custom plate , but when he offhandedly named it the WGRKT it sorta stuck. [thumbsup]
Heh, a country bloke with a bushie sense of humour, who had the longest running new type Royal Enfield in Oz, until it too shit itself and stuffed the top end. Apparently around 10,000ks is all they last. He thought up some good names for that too. [evil] [roll] [laugh]
ooohhh ok then
Hmmmm, a bit disjointed and vague that! [roll]
