Title: Part needed locally
Post by: Drunken Monkey on October 07, 2009, 10:44:12 PM
Hey all,

The damn brake light banjo (http://www.motowheels.com/italian/myproducts.cfm?parentcategoryid=116%7CDucati%20Brakes&productID=3643&showDetail=1&categoryID=475%7CBrake%20Misc&vendoridtodisplay=0&filterFor=&collection=168%7CEuropean%20Motorcycle%20Parts) bolt for my front brakes has apparently failed and is no longer lighting up my rear brake.

Anyone know a shop locally that carries these? Ideally I'd like this fixed for the weekend.

I got one of those pressure switches when I bought some rearsets a while back and never used it. I have no idea if it'll work, but it's yours if you want it. Lemme go out to the garage and get more info on it.

Will those things work on front brakes with the coffins?

Thanks folks.

Micheal, yours probably won't do the trick as it needs to be a double banjo bolt for two lines. So unless you have some super funky rear break setup  ;D

So this thing just replaces the stock banjo bolt and it has the switch on the end?
Just askin cause I'm tired of the little micro switch & plunger setup.

Exactly right. It's a combination double banjo bolt and pressure switch (also available in single line model)

The downside: Apparently they are just as failure prone as the microswitches. [bang]

Anyone? Bueler? Anyone?

Try Nichols, they sometime have used stuff laying around

Stopped in at Desmotosport today on my way home from dropping the scooter off for a new tire.

No only was Scott open, but he had the part in stock  [thumbsup]

Plus he gave me a set of bar ends to give out as part of tomorrow's Monster Challenge!

And just to make things perfect, I ran into petemg there and he gave me a lift home

Didn't that work out well!

Oh, and there must have been something in the air there, because as I was outside warming up the S2R, who should roll up but DQ on the Blue Roach. Wild.
