Had crap weather for weeks, i am hanging for a good group ride [moto]
Anyone have anything planned this weekend? I need to get outside whilst the sun still shines!!!
+1
group rides are organised by people who put their hand up to organise them... so, organise one and see what happens..
tips (from someone who's organised one or two)
- take charge - pick a route and a start and finish time - there's no democracy in this process if you want it to happen
- give more than a week notice if you want more than the odd attendee.
- if no one shows interest, then go anyway and take pics!
smaller gatherings tend to be organised adhoc - I went for a ride on Monday with 2 others on a spur of the moment (cause I'm on hols and Broni let me our for a day) - these tend not to be posted on the forum.
There is a _large_ group ride organised for NSW every 2 months or so, but these are more social than riding, given the fact that there can be 12 or more bikes in attendance..

Cheers fishman ;)
I don't want to organise a ride, i've organised drives in car clubs in the past and it's not really my thing.
How about an adhoc burn through the Old Rd --> Calga --> Wisemans and back through Glenorie? Or maybe just the Old Rd on early Saturday moring? Any takers?
Got things to do in the morning this saturday, they are over sth way so I'll most likely head for a little squirt through the park.
Pick me Pick me...........sorry forgot QLD riders don't get out much. Obviously the weather is too nice and the coffee too good :(
Your it.......
How about an Old Rd. squirt on Sunday morning?
Weather permitting
Work for me on Sunday. plus it's Aussie Moto GP so you might not have many takers.
Scratch this week maybe the next weekend
as all you lucky buggers will be going down to watch Casey stick it to em on home turf
That's sounding like a plan then.
Just for your information [thumbsup]

They do love the RNP, that is why I usually only use the half park as it is more difficult to be clocked.
There is no actual straight enough section to be pinged properly.
Remember they have to get a lock for 3+ seconds for it to be legal.
Usually when you get written down it is because the reading was not solid enough but they know and you know
you were going too fast.
Help me out those of us who are on the job, am I correct in saying this.
Mind you that is not a license to wrap yourself around a tree.
Also keep in mind that when you are in a group ride if there is a distant of less than 200 metres between riders
a radar check can be seen as invalid but again same as above not a license to knock yourself out.
So how was the ride? Any photos?
Cause there was snaps, this is after lunch before which on the way up the Pass we got
soooooo bloody wet and not a lot of fun, well I say that it was on the way up.
On the way down the Pass in greasy wet conditions spotting the oil patches wasn't fun really, slowest I've ever been down there.

Me and Dezmonster and Dez's mate on an 848.
Did a quick last minute run up the old road Saturday morning.
And 2 laps from the bridge to the dived road .
Coffee and scones at pie.
The 848 didn't stand a chance with two monsters to deal with [laugh] [laugh]
All good no [leo] nice and dry and warm.

Yeah not road worthy at all ;)
The front Tyre didn't even have any tread [roll]
There was some poor excuse for a tail light and indicators some were.
I know i was behind it most of the way [moto]
[laugh] [laugh]
That's a bit nuts then!
Not as bad as it sounds Bill's bike does have working indicators , we were just re attaching his number plate
as it was shaking loose.
He had a racing slick on the front [evil] super sticky and with no rain safe but would of made the [leo] book come out if pulled over [laugh] his problem , he races the bike most weekends and only had time to get a road legal on the back in time for our ride .
He is deffinatly from a differant school than us , he has NEVER cleaned his bike and focuses on performance improvements rather than looks , good bloke very fast on the track so we were happy to be the caboose on this Old road ride train [moto].
sounds like a fun ride ....you guys had good luck i rode the same track 3 times fri and sat for 5 [leo] incl one parked half way down the hill from pie....one who had a chat over coffee at the old road warriors and one parked half way up the straight just north of the cafe.......lucky ducati's have great engine breaking :) :)
They do seem to love that part of town.
