Hi guys, I want to "clean" my bike and remove those black zip ties from the frame. Are there any alternatives to it or ways that I can get rid of them? Thanks!

there are any number of alternatives. almost all of the wiring can be hidden, with no zip ties needed. it really depends on how much work you want to put into it.
i stripped my bike down to just a frame and engine, then pulled the entire wiring harness and re-routed it so that none of the wiring was visible....maybe a little excessive, but i had fun, and got the results i wanted

was the wiring long enough or did you have to use a wire stretcher?
While you are trying to figure it out, replace the black ties with red ones. Or use 3M vinyl deco tape.
I cant at the moment recall where I saw them, but there are zip-tie attachments with curved, sticky-backed, bases. McMaster Carr??
I kinda like the little rubber cable ties Ducati uses on some of it's bikes (I'm not sure which ones...I noticed them on a 999 and started using them). They show, and you have to buy the right size, but they look better than plastic zip ties and they don't foul up the paint like zip ties can.

yes, there is
plenty of wire in the harness. maybe too much
im quite proud of my tool collection but apparently i need to get a wire stretcher :P
I have the same model/year. You should be able cut the ties and then replace them tying into other places than the external frame. There are plenty of little places back up in there that should make the job easy. Just get in there. Worst case, you have to put one back where you cut it off.
When I did mine I just got some new tywraps and as I cut the old ones off I would just tie up the wires on the back of the frame to theirselves lots of the time and I'd utilize what ever was handy just taking care that it was not a hot or moving part. Probably spent 1-2 hours on it. two years later they aren't sagging or anything.

I found some velco wire ties at Frigid North electronics that are a very close color match.

just throwing this out there, you can get red plastic zip ties at any autoparts store that are a lot more low-profile than those velcro ties, and are weather proof, unlike those velcro ties... and they aren't velcro... like those velcro ties... ;D
(i hate velcro)
you can just hide it without using ties,i just pushed it all inside and boom it's gone.Lazy me [thumbsup]
