Fellow rider and DMF member, Joe Lin (joelin52) passed away on Sunday Oct. 11th. I just received this message from his family:
Joe Lin died on October 11th, 2009, at the age of 46. He died when making a turn on Highway 99 near Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, lost control, and was impacted by oncoming vehicle from the opposite side of the road. He was with his Ducati Riders Club members on a regular club meet around Squamish, BC.
A family viewing will take place on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 2:30pm, followed by a memorial service open to all friends from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services in Vancouver. Entombment will take place on Oct. 20th, 2009, at 1:00pm at the Memory Garden of First Memorial Funeral Services in North Vancouver.
I only had the pleasure of meeting Joe once on a group ride to celebrate his birthday this past September. He was very passionate about riding and Ducatis in particular. He was an experienced rider having ridden for the past 14 years. His last ride was to celebrate his passing of his BC motorcycle road test since recently moving to Canada from Taiwan. My condolences go to his family for this tragic loss.
