The ol' Paul Smart developed a leak in the oil cooler- No Bueno!
Here's the main thread-

All suggestions most welcome [thumbsup]
as your answer in that thread, a radiator shop should be able to braise a seam. Radiators, oil coolers and trans coolers all work pretty much the same.
Cheaper than getting a new one, but will have to repaint t after though.
Are they braised in the 1st place? Also, I understand that the pressure is much higher in the oil coolers than in a standard radiator. Anyone have an idea how much pressure it needs to withstand?
between 21 psi hot at idle to 57 psi hot at rpm load 4500+
between 35 psi cold idle to 72 psi cold rpm load 4500+
shouldn't very much at all from these on the PS
And these numbers would be similar to auto numbers and oil coolers also
EDIT: I forgot to add that these are for the 900 motor
Isn't your bike under warranty? Unless it is backordered your dealer should be able to get one in a few days. you could bypass the cooler temporarily. If you choose to go to a radiator shop do make sure they understand the pressure it will be subjected to.

Of course not! The warranty expired 6 weeks ago :P
I'm going to give the radiator shop a try. Should be a lot less than $300., & I'm going to ask for an 80PSI pressure test.
Thanks for the input, I'll keep y'all posted [thumbsup]

Six weeks :( I would try speaking to the dealer, can't hurt. If my memory works KTM uses the same cooler and sell it for less. Anybody out there know if I am correct?
Whew! I took the oil cooler to a radiator shop yesterday (yes, they were open Memorial Day), & they pressure tested it, but couldn't find a leak. They went ahead & put a nice fat weld around where I thought it was leaking. Did it while I waited... $10.
Got it back together & fired it up, & let it idle for quite awhile. Looking good, so I rode to the gas station.
Got it up to around 8k rpm, & about 210 degrees.
NO LEAK [thumbsup]
Thanks for everyone's input ;D
