As of 2 weeks ago im the proud owner of a 620 monster...
Currently not registed, as its a repairable write off (Water damage... NO damage)
I have to have it restricted to comply with the LAMS laws in NSW...
Love riding up the Putty and up to the Oxley... don't like riding around the suburbs with the tin tops...
I look forward to leaning lots and meeting you guys...

Do you mean restricting the power for graduated licensing requirements? Or something else?

in NSW all learners and provisional riders are required to ride a bike with no more then 15kw per 100KG...
Before these laws, learners and Provisional riders were only allowed a 250cc bike... not including 2stroke bikes
these new laws allow more bike companies to produce bikes for tall fellas like myself... there is a much largers market to choose from now...
My bike (from factory) had a throttle restrictor to comply with the 15kw per 100kg law.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm all for graduated license laws, we don't have that here in the US. In fact around here (California) you could take a written test to get your riding permit (the riding test is only required for the endorsement on your license) and the permit restricts you from riding at night, on the freeways, and taking a passenger, but that's it. You could go out and get a liter bike without any riding experience whatsoever.
How long will you be riding with the restrictor?
i will need to have it on until i am no longer a provisional rider, which has only just changed...
so 3 years... massive bummer! lol
if i have an accident and my bike is investigated by insurance my insurance will be void... i would rather learn to ride a bike properly and stay out of trouble and keep the boy racer at the track...
