Picked up my first Duc on Sept 12th of this year.
2009 Monster 696 Matte Black
I'm almost out of the "break in" phase and mods are underway.
Motivation front, rear, and frame sliders
Rizoma bar ends
Next up, tail chop and CF Termi exhaust.
Any mod ideas/suggestions are always welcome.
Cool stuff man. Hope you find your way over to Corse Motorsports off 4th Ave S., Alain and Andy were great and that's where I had many of my great ideas put into motion. I know they have a group that watches races, goes on group rides, and takes trips to tracks for weekend trackdays (like Barber, Roebling Road, and some others).
As far as mods, there's no such thing as wasted money on suspension, and brakes are always another great place to put in some work. For performance, the 696 is no slouch, but lightweight wheels are welcomed on every bike.
Make sure you yank that horrid looking emissions can on the side, and get it tidied up. The guys at Corse are great for helping you out with all the necessary maintenance, warranty, insurance and/or modification needs a person could ever think up.
Cheers, from a former Nashvillian. [moto]
Welcome, less then 2 months and already bitten by the modding bug? ;)
Glad to hear you are having fun with your bike. I'm sure you will love those Termis. ;D
ato memphis gave you some great advice, getting the suspension set up will make the bike feel even better. The best mod IMO, however, is upgrading the rider...taking a track school is a great investment. [thumbsup]
You'll get some more great ideas in our Accessories & Mods (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=5.0) section.
Also, don't forget to stop in and introduce yourself to your local group, MCMC (http://mcmc).
Have fun and don't forget to post pictures! :)
