I did a Sonoma-Napa loop this afternoon (Sonoma->Hwy 12->Trinity Grade->Oakville->Hwy 128->Chiles Pope Valley->back to the Silverado Trail and Napa) and the scenery is f'ing incredible. Seriously folks, hop on yer bikes and have a look, especially if you hang around till the late afternoon. I was planning to shoot some pix, but the ride was just too enjoyable (this always seems to happen to me.)
There was a bit of traffic, but you're not there to ride like your hair's on fire, are you? Slow down, and enjoy living in one of the great places on this planet. [thumbsup]
Edit: I forgot to mention the bonus for riders: that wonderful musty-sweet-earthy smell of slowly rotting grapes. It's heady stuff!
wow ... i will not use my normal smart-ass reply to this posting ... i envy you sig. moore ... the ride sounds almost life-altering in nature (no pun intended). [thumbsup]
bastid (damn, i could not resist returning to my usual smart-ass self)

LOL, I knew when I saw you post up a ride to Napa, that pictures would not be taken...thatta Boy! [thumbsup]
Enzo and I just got back from a weekend up in Sonoma. Incredible. We did a several hour hike on Saturday. Weather was beautiful. The grape leaves are turning colors...it's like California's version of New England in fall I heard someone say. Couldn't be truer. I drove up a bunch of roads that look great for riding. They're wet and not in great shape, but the scenery is breathtaking. [thumbsup] I bet the riding was fantastic, Michael.
Agreed.
We should do a ride; Napa + Berryessa. Actually I was going to org one with Jack Hines. (grasshopper).
He knows Napa. Anyone interested?
