so I did my third track day recently earlier this month.
I thought I would step it up so I entered in the B group ( big jump from C group)
anyway everybody was passing me on the first three sessions, I got passed by about 10-15 riders in the first two sessions
then maybe 5-8 riders in the third.
by the 4th session I was feeling better and came up on a couple riders but could not make a pass
I came up on a guy on a 848 and followed him for one lap, finally on the next lap entering the straight I was able to get in front
of him and finally made my first pass
I was feeling really could but then coming out of turn 6 it happened!
I got on the gas too early and I felt the rear tire sliding out (I think) I stayed on the gas because it seemed to step out for a long time
I thought to my self (this is it, I'm going down) I figured I would let the bike slide out and low side
I remember looking down towards the gas tank and that's when the rear tire hooked up and shot me up.
I flew and tumbled for what seemed an eternity
long story short I am just wondering if anyone here was there and may have caught in on film ??
I have a broken wrist on my right hand and a broken 5th metatarsal (?) on my left foot and lots of bruising on my shoulders
black eye from the impact to my helmet
my bike didn't do as well:

Dan.......
Ouch...sorry to hear it. But it wasn't catastrophic so I suspect you'll be back.
BTW - Don't supersports rock at the track?
Supersports rock everywhere
8)
yeah they do !! [clap]
there was another one in my group and a later generation in the A group
I hope the insurance co. doesn't want to total it though :-[
I used the don't ask don't tell mindset when I called mine in.
If they asked, I answered honestly. I also didn't add in details I wasn't asked about.
Where were you? -Canada
What were the specifics of the accident? - I hit some gravel and went down (I just didn't mention I was on the track)
Ok, we'll send the claims adj out.
Choose your words carefully. Actually, do you even need to turn it in? The damage didn't look that bad

I'd delete this thread.

i see a scuffed throttle housing, a scuff on the exhaust canister, a small dent in the exhaust, a rearset, a signal lens, and some paintwork.
if it was me, i wouldn't even bother dealing with the insurance, it's not worth the hassle.

..and they would probably try to total it simply due to the 'unavailabilty' of parts.
actually the exhaust has multiple dents on the pipe due to the broken footpeg
but I have a brand new in the box set of Termi high mounts [thumbsup]
they just don't fit with the Sil-moto spaghetti header I have on it now
but I am worried about the twisted forks ??
and the right front stay above the instrument cluster is tweaked
I removed the racing front section covering the headlight and I couldn't get it back on
at least the fork sliders did their job

Ouch, didn't notice the forks. Check around on some of the forums and maybe e-bay before calling the insurance. It may well not be worth it. I pick up spares for my 996 on ducati.ms whenever I see 'em cheap, just in case. I've got a radiator, wiring harness, clip-ons, etc. sitting in the garage, just in case :)

Ouch, didn't notice the forks.
shouldn't be too much trouble to figure out if they're twisted in the triple, bent, or if the triple is tweaked.
......ok just got the latest from the shop
not including the parts made of "unobtainium" , exhaust, rear sets, cycle cat triple clamp
the preliminary estimate is over 13K !!!!!!!
:-X
the frame is tweaked in three different places
:-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
Computrack?
Or do they just check frames and not fix them?
13K sucks.
Computrack is just the measuring device.
Chassis-Dynamics-Dave used to be The Man for exactly a problem like this. but he packed up shop and retired to AZ.
maybe ask Computrack who they would recommend. or call http://www.gpsuspension.com/ (http://www.gpsuspension.com/) and ask them.. Dave used to work with them a lot so i bet they know other frame peeps.
so I am picking up the bike tomorrow
while I work out the money with the insurance co.
they say it is repairable and worth doing
I have a feeling the frame is not that bad and hopefully the steering head is not tweaked
if it is I will part out the rest of the bike
maybe put the motor into my 98 M900 !!!!
here are some pic's of before the high side :
