Good morning! I'm Dave, currently living in Hawaii on Oahu, but probably moving back to the mainland next year. So, I figured I would enjoy switching from my first bike, a 1994 Yamaha XJ600 to a 2010 Ducati Monster 696.
I've only been riding for 8 months, and wanted a new bike to begin with, but I heeded everyone's advice to NOT get a new bike, and took both the MSF Basic and Experienced Rider courses. Well, my Yamaha was a great deal and worked pretty well, but I've been wanting a Ducati for awhile.
I can't even begin to describe the difference. Well, most of you probably know.
Welcome Dave and congrats on the 696! [beer] We'd love to see pictures if you have any. ;)
When you get a chance, check in with your local group,
Desmotropic (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=51.0). Any idea where on the mainland you'll be headed?
