Sucks, that is all. >:(
Motogp.com might just rope me into buying some classics packages to scratch the itch.

...told ya =)
I watched Misano and rewatched Donnington last night. Woohoo . I haven't sleep all week because I keep saying that I'm gonna Tivo the WSS races and then I end up watching 'em when they're on (midnight - 2am or sumptin' like that). It was funny watchin' Crutchlow and Laverty duke it out and then try to shake each other hands after a race, only to have Laverty fall down. [laugh]
I watched the majority of the races during the season. But to watch 'em back to back to back is pretty great. [thumbsup] I'm more excited about Crutchlow in WSBK next year than I was a coupla weeks ago. I wonder if he and Toseland are gonna get along? I think mebbe not so much.
i think there's a strong possibility that cal is gonna hand jt his lunch.
Definite possibility. Then again, JT was strong on Ben's bike. But Cal can run SBK times on an R6. It'll be good. [thumbsup] I may have some WSBK hang-over from last year though.
McCoy . . . :'( I love that guy but since they got rid of the 500s, he can't ride a bike to save his life (and can't get a decent ride to save his life either). Mebbe he's just not the right guy for the age of electronics.

I thought he ran faster than Ben's qualifying time (or was it his race time)? Did I remember that wrong? Derb, I konw you have a link for me from testing. Give it up.

i'm too lazy to go look for the link... and i bet derby is doing it right this second.. but that aint the case.
Apropos of this conversation, JT, WTF are you talking about?

Of course you failed. Unless " to fail" means something other than . . . well . . . "to fail."

Ah, you're right. Mebbe I replaced JT for CC in my head. http://www.crash.net/world+superbikes/news/154107/1/portimao_wsbk_test_times_-_wednesday.html (http://www.crash.net/world+superbikes/news/154107/1/portimao_wsbk_test_times_-_wednesday.html)

yeah.. you can't really blame jt. i mean, not that much. he just got off a very different bike; getting back into the sbk frame of mind is going to take some time, i'm sure.
...well, except for the fact that on the flipside, ben didn't do too shabby in the valencia GP. or the testing the followed. and he burned shit down when he got on nori's R1 on day 0 of the 2009 season.
but he's The Ben. ;)

The offseason also leads to stupid filler articles:
http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/155129/1/jarvis_hat-trick_will_be_hard_work.html (http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/155129/1/jarvis_hat-trick_will_be_hard_work.html)
Really, Yamaha, the hat-trick is gonna be hard work? The other manufacturers want to win it to?
(In truth, I'm not really complaining, and at least I get to read some moto-news. The off-season does that too--redirects my rage to random outlets like crash.net articles rather to Crashy McPintsize, douchebrizio, and JT where it belongs).
I'm guessing that we'll be seeing a lot of JT running into people and pushing them off the track again next year because I doubt he'll be outright fastest.
if he returns to some portion of his 2007 form i'll be pretty stoked.
I'm with ya, gm2. He was pretty damn impressive in '07 (and in the very beginning of GP in '08).
BTW, I really like the WSBK bump and grind (mainly from and between the Brits -- they just seem to have a different standard of what's close racing). The weird thing is that somehow it seems ok when folks do it in WSBK and less ok when they do it in GP. Dunno why.
If by "form" you mean running into people because he can't pass them cleanly then I'll hate him just as much as I did then. I hope that he's quick and doesn't resort to dirty riding because that shit pisses me off.
I know I'm in the minority though, lots of people just seem to think that's cool. I think it's substituting balls for skill.

they're downright gentlemanly compared to the mid 90s. if you can, check out the british wildcards in the mid-90s worldsbk races.

he did that in the beginning of his GP career, for sure. but are you talking about 2007? no doubt he was banging elbows a few times; it's required there. but he was also very fast. he didn't win via block & tackle.
re offseason doldrums, this month's RRW is packed with very readable articles. bmw intro (wow), back to back comparison of last year's wsbks ridden by noyes (he went fastest on The Ben's bike), a how to beat rossi/M1 analysis, a ride on mladin's 2009 gsxr, and an article about the revitalized yamaha champion's school.
oh, and a random article about why the honda ridgeline is a perfect daily driver/race hauler vehicle... ;)

Maybe the offseason isn't so bad (NSFW):

Man, that music combined with the jerky camera work was pretty brutal. :P
Didja miss the part with the girl in it?
I don't see how it was NSFW unless it had to do with Lorenzo being topless
I did like the windscreen used as a hair/head piece...
