Title: Nuther one gone...
Post by: lilmonster on December 01, 2009, 06:07:05 PM
Rosa quit at AMS. Sucks, since I've been a AMS customer, almost everyone I like is gone from there. Natalie, Scott and Rosa.  Jeff and Toni are pretty cool though, guess they won't quit anytime soon. [roll]

What? She's gone! They have a bad record of firing or running good people off. I'm sure they have their personal/business reasons but damn, they are not making any friends in that department... starting with the Peter Gould debacle. [bang] :P I will miss Rosa, she was good people. Who the hell knows what happened to Scott. I really liked Scott too and I was in the shop a day or two before he was canned. They say he "left on his own" but don't you think he would tell an old customer that he was leaving just days before he quit? I'm calling bullshit! I wouldn't work there with those folks for any amount of money. >:( If I was a current employee I would be very pananoid. Who's next? :P

Cost-Cutting?

It seems like the only strike against her was that she didn't ride, and when working at a moto-shop, that's a bit of a big deal.

She was going to take the MSF course this month as soon as there was a decent weekend...

i would work there for pennies just to be around bikes more.  Then again, I'd work at any moto shop to be around bikes more.

Yeah that is correct and for what its worth she still wasn't going to ride a motorcycle, but we really don't know all of the story behind her leaving.  There is no sense in saying they run anyone off when we're not part of the situation.  Maybe she slacked off and caused it herself?  The only people that know that are those who employ her.  Perhaps she needed more time for school or something?

I'll miss her, as she was a good people person, but I also like Marty and Jeff, and Jordan, etc.

Times always change.

Ha Ha Ha!... Cold (maybe) but funny  ;D

Next time I see him I'll have to give him a jab in the ribs about that one.  [laugh]

I know some of what has happened in the past, and from what I know, there are good reasons/personal motivation for what has happened... and that is all I'll say about that... except I know some of the speculation I've read here is 180° out of phase with reality.
The Rosa thing is news to me, but as always I wish everyone the best, and hope for whirled peas.   [thumbsup]

Well some people leave, Some people come .... I know from first hand that Toni and Jeff will  kick someone out only if he/she is a slucker... most of the people who left or replaced left for different reasons either because was tired or wanted to do something else... It's a good place to work and you get some opportunities that some other people not even dreamed about it...

Of course sometimes we had to work hard but how many times you go to work and you drool over Troy bayliss, Toselands, Eric Bostroms or Ben Bostrom Factory bikes? How about  all those times we the emploees could talk one to one with people you see only in magazines (factory riders, designers, CEO, Ducati Techs etc )... or how those limited edition bikes that born from AMS and the guys who worked there? Sure if was a bad place to be  we will not fill like building bikes like the Back In Back into Limited Edition Sport1000, Tricolore Hyper into NM limited.... White Hyper into Production white hyper... and  many  more cool things...

There is no Perfect Dealer but DFW people should feel lycky to have a store like AMS around the corner.... [thumbsup]

No one is looking for you anyway.  You're making alot of accusations they you probably have now business doing.

No one needs to look out for me, thank you very much, and my accusations come directly from conversations from Toni and Peter. I agree it's not my business how AMS is run but Peter and Susan are friends of mine and his firing was very poorly timed and handled. Toni was obviously worried about how patrons would take Peter's firing given they had just moved into the nearby loft and Susan's recent hospitalization. Toni spoke to me about it the day he was fired. She was worried that customers would hold it against AMS because he was so well liked. That is what I was implying in my post. I will give Peter many kudos for never ever saying anything bad about AMS in spite of the poor timing of his firing. I have been fired for total BS reasons before so I take his firing more personally than most. I know of your connections with AMS but don't knock my reasons for being upset over Peter's undoing even two and a half years after the fact. The effect of time still does not make it right. They knew he was moving into the nearby loft even though they were going to fire him. And then when Susan was admitted into Baylor with serious health problems they canned him. What, they couldn't wait until she got out of the hospital? Where's the compassion? I'd love to hear your responce to that... if you have one. :P

If Peter was so well liked, why was he fired?

He was still there right about the time I bought my first bike from them, so I didn't know him very well.

Either that or he's about to pinch one off in his shorts.  We should do a "caption this" thread with funny dfw peep's pictures.

Hey Brian, I didn't really get to know Peter either, so I have no idea about his scenario, but it seems he was liked by a lot of customers.

Also +1 on getting another cute girl up there.  Preferably one that rides... maybe on the back of the demo's.  You have to have a hawt woman to temper the testosterone in that place and give all the guys someplace to escape their S.O.'s     ....   I better shup up now before Tara reads this and slaps me!   :P

Clearly AMS is going to need some sort of alumni association.

I second the highlighting of Peter's classiness in never saying anything bad about AMS, the Nashs, etc.  He continues to support the place and refer people there despite the timing and handling of that situation.

yeah they do need someone that rides and preferably a woman.  Cory's skirt yesterday was not a pleasing site.  [puke]

That's funny!!

Enough of my ramblings, I just wish Rosa all the best where ever she lands. She was very nice and did a good job... just my opinion. I will say that Toni and Jeff have done very well in choosing their staff. I have never had even the slightest problem with anyone over the years and have always been treated like their #1 customer... which I'm definitely not but it's nice they try and make you feel that way. [thumbsup] Hope they find a replacement of the same quality! I'm sure they will.

From all my dealings with AMS Alv, and now the Dallas store I've never had a bad day.  I got two big greeting today from Marty and Cory in Dallas.
Granted I don't ask for discounts as I want them to make a profit and stay in business... just sayin [popcorn]
