Title: Saturday goings on: Classic bike show, GoAZ holiday party, etc.
Post by: Dietrich on December 03, 2009, 06:06:14 AM
Thought I would post up a couple events going on this weekend:

Vintage Ride & Show Cave Creek
When: December 5, 2009 9:00 AM
Where:Mojito Cigar Lounge
4705 E Carefree Hwy Shops at Dove Valley
          Cave Creek, AZ 85331
          480 595 7833

This is a Vintage Bikes show that starts at 9.00 am.

I think there is a ride after the show, but I'm planning on just going to check out the bikes around 9am then maybe heading out to Cave Creek Coffee Co and maybe a quick jaunt to Bartlett Lake.

GoAZ Holiday party, 11am:

And don't forget about Saturday nights at the ongoing Scottsdale Pavilions car & bike show...might stop by there in the evening also.

I will probably only make the Pavillions in the evening as I am involved with an autox event during the day.

Enjoy.... I'll be sitting on a plane to Ireland for 12hrs. All for a lousy 1 day customer meeting on Monday then fly back Tuesday morning - all middle seat coach  [bang]
On the bright side there should be some time for the real stuff........ [drink]

Dietrich and I went. Hooked up with Jon and Chris and Chris's friend Eric who was on an early 60's Monza 250.
I had/have a cold so was moving sloooow.
It was fun. Not as many bikes as I hoped (seems to be the way here. You'd think with as large a metropolis as this is and as many riders as there are, vintage bikes would be coming out of the woodwork. Milwaukee has a better showing! feh. Anyway....)
It was a good time. Coupla lovely old Ducs, a nice BMW /6 (?), a pristine '78 TT500, and some others. They gave out a couplea "best bike" prizes - low key and amused. Went for a ride out Bartlett Lake way, then back to Cave Creek for lunch at a BBQ place (needlesstosay, not much for me to eat there. heh.)

I'm going to open up a restaurant for vegetarians who want delicious BBQ.

I'll call it "Michael's Salad Extravaganza with BBQ sauce in a shotglass"

[wine]

heh. If you did the BBQ with that fake meat stuff, that could be tasty.

This place had a yummy potato salad!
And an odd vegetarian option of "shredded squash bbq sandwich" - didn't sound terribly appetizing.

Textured Vegetable Protien nuggets (TVP).  Soak 'em in water, cook 'em up, and they have the texture of chicken.  Yummmmmmm

Being the health and nutritional expert that I am, I'm confused why healthy vegetarians will go to so much trouble to eat an overly-processed, nutritionally-void, meat-like product, just for the sake of taste or texture, but then not eat real meat.

I've got nothing against the vegetarian religion and its beliefs, but I say go all in or all out.

I mean, you don't see Catholic Priests secretly breaking their vows ... wait, I need a better example.

Okay, you don't see Star Wars fans trying to implement Star Trek characters into the Star Wars movies.

It's either one or the other, and never the twain shall meet.

Michael: <little rant>I don't know why either. I'm not a "religious vegetarian" and I dislike it when people jump to conclusions about why I eat the way I do. As well, I get tired of having to explain my eating habits all the time. I don't grill (no pun intended) meat eaters as to why they make the eating choices they do.... </little rant>

Why do you eat vegetables at all? Isn't that like being a fence-sitter? Why not only all meat all the time?
And what about hot dogs? Ew!  :)

and as for Star Wars/Star Trek...

Who says I don't eat meat all the time?

I'm just kidding. I'm actually a vegetarian, too. I have just a few exceptions -- I'll eat beef, chicken, pork, turkey, lamb, and fish -- but I refuse to eat eggplant.

Great clip, btw.

It reminds me of a musical playing in Branson, MO called "Star-related entertainment and revue" hosted by Alf.
