I am new to the monster board thing so here I go:
Name: Jay
Location: San Francisco
Bikes: Monster 900, 916, R1200S
How long have I been riding? Eighteen years.
Anything else to share? My new year's resolution was to get more involved in the bay area bike scene. I moved from Minneapolis which had an amazing Bike community. Places like Bob's Java Hut, Trackstar Motorsports, Norton Owners Club, and CRA. I look forward to meeting all you folk once I figure out where to be and when to be there.

Hey Jay --
Welcome. It looks like there is a ride this weekend, AMA races in a coupla weeks (Tigre will probably be racing), Zeitgeist on the last Thurs on the month and some rides and wrenching in between all that. Plenty of time to meet the gang.

Jay, you should post the pics of last weekends Legends of the Concourse on this site by starting a new thread... I'm curious! :)
You'll all no doubt be pleased to know you friendly non-neighbour from down under will be lurking and forcing you all to endure extra Zeitgeist evenings in Aug/Sept...

And when is the next East Bay Ducati night? Did I miss the one for May yet?
Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to meeting you all.

Thanks to MM for directing me here.

My first bike was a Hodaka '72,
and this morning I went to Factory Pro to check out their dyno,
and there it was, a Combat Wombat 125,
I kept looking between my first bike and my current bike..
what a trip... sweet
I look forward to meeting and riding with the MOBers,
I am going to ride from Tam Junction to at least Tomales tomorrow @ 11, anybody wanna join me

Hey Adrian! :)
The emoticons (smilies) had a different code originally, and someone asked them to change them to what we are used to.
So for example, [thumbsup] was originally "wt:" last week, but since this weekend's overhaul, the code is now "[ thumbsup ]" (minus the spaces).
Anything that was posted before Saturday night has the old codes in and it is too difficult for them to fix them globally.
phew! thanks!

New to whole "forum" thing, so if I screw this up, pardon the noob. Anyways, bought a 600 Monster in Feb and can't wait to meet and ride with other like minded crazies. I've got a background in dirtbikes but this is my first streetbike and it's awesome, i love the feel of the twin, not to mention it's the perfect bike (imo) for SF.
Not sure what else to put, I'm a student though so I've prety much always got time to ride. Hit me up!

Welcome back, how was it? I was there in February.
Weather was so so, I was in Sydney before for a few weeks where it was amazing. But Hong Kong is like a theme park to me, every time I go there something new happens. Last Sunday, just a day before I left, I met Jackie Chan (and almost all cantopop stars) backstage on a fundraiser. ;D

msincredible sent me here to check in. Newbie waiting on a new Red 696 to arrive. Live Martinez, work Marin. Hoping the guys at Hattar can bend time/space so I can get my bike sooner.
Virtually no motorcycle experience. Just wrapped up my MSC in vallejo, added my M endorsement, and will shed the cage shortly.
Looking forward to connecting with the MOB as much as I can. I will miss the get together at Pizza Antique in Lafayette. Enjoy!
BTW in college, the MOB was a party model that started generally with 4 - 5 guys at 2:00AM and a titanium bike lock. The MOB would travel from house to house recruiting new members. Initiates would receive the lock as a necklace until the new member recruited another another member. We would secure the lock around the neck of an unsuspecting recruit while they slept. Once encased with the bike lock, it is very difficult however to stay asleep. So, the new member is thus encouraged by lack of the key to help the MOB find the next victim new member. As only on securing another addition to the MOB is the bike lock removed. It was weird, but somehow, each house visited complained that all their food was eaten, booze gone, and animals generally skittish the next day. Huh, can't remember don't know what happened there...
Thanks for being here!

I was born and raised nearby (Stockton), but escaped after college. ;D Happy holidays!
Finally back and ready to ride. Looking forward to some dry pavement 'cause I'm jones'n for a ride.
Hope everyone is well and we haven't lost any riders. Is the crash ticker still tickin'?
Added a new ride to the stable...an '08 Triumph Tiger 1050. Only have a couple hundred miles on it but expect it to be a great commuter. Costs (maint & fuel) should be a bit less too.
Appears I've got some catching up to do.
I just realized that the MOB is like an entirely new entity within DMF... So, I'll introduce myself.
You'll find me puttting around Berkeley either on my newly acquired white M696, or on my beloved gray Honda HawkGT. The Hawk is the bike I've racked up most of my miles since starting, roughly 2 years ago. I joined the group because I'd be up for joining any MOB rides and hoping to meet others who do trackdays or would like to start. That's one of the reasons I bought my Monster- to learn how to ride road courses and hopefully be good at it. The other being that I want reliable(enuff) bike to ride long distance up to Canada with.
Cheers [beer]
Adrian
ps, if any of you live not too far away from berkeley and want to hit the curves with another Monster rider, let me know! I'd be up for it. I range from speed limit to "just above".

Welcome, lots of track day junkies around here and a few current and washed up racers. [beer]
