Hey all! If you're in Tucson, keep your eyes peeled through the 14th of December for Lance Armstrong and Team Radio Shack. They are staying at Canyon Ranch and are training in Tucson.

The first day here, I heard that they rode up even with the cold temps and snow!!
wow, thats pretty ballsy even for a 7 time winner
I know - but they aren't here to train on flat roads - so I figured that was a given for them!
Check out their 2010 kit:

I bet that's a really heavy bike.
UCI mandates a minimum weight of 6.8 kg (15 lb).
Most bikes of that caliber weigh less than that, so they add a ballast, usually in the seat tube, to get to the minimum.

Lance is doing a book signing on Sunday that we're going to go to! I'll post up a pic if I get one! [thumbsup]
where is that gonna be? B&N on broadway?
It's going to be at the Borders on Broadway between Craycroft and Willmot. I think thats Park Place Mall but I've never been there.
Well it was a very hectic but cool expierence that we had with Lance Armstrong this weekend. As you might imagine there were A TON of people that showed up at his book signing, but it was very organized and worked out pretty efficently. We both got a copy of his new book Comeback 2.0 and got them personally signed by Lance.

I must admit it was a pretty cool expierence. We had time to read through the book before he signed them so we had a refreshed look at what his comeback year was like which ultimatly enriched the personal expierence of him signing our books. The best part for me though was that Maureen got a great picture of me shaking his hand. For me, Armstrong represents something that motivates me to be a better cyclist, to push myself, to try my very best, and never give up. I know that people either love him or hate him, but I found that meeting him for even a short time, gave me a chance to physically connect with the best of the best - like being a martial arts fan and getting to meet Bruce Lee, or discussing theology with Pascal - it was great!
I'm happy for you. That's an awesome experience.
I think of him as one of the few athletes that we can still look up to. It's too bad people have tried to throw scandal at him, he really doesn't deserve it.
I think we should start a Lance Armstrong list of one-liners like Chuck Norris has. Like "When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night he checks his closet for Chuck Norris."
Only instead we'd have clever things to say about Lance Armstrong.
My favorite Armstrong movie quote comes from "You, Me, and Dupree".
"You leave Lance alone. He's done more with one testicle than you or I could do with three."

I didn't realize you hired IZ to be your photographer.

You guys crack me up. While we were in the book store I saw a book of Chuck Norris one liners - it was hilarious!!!
"The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book: 101 of Chuck's Favorite Facts and Stories"
So here's my contribution: "Chuck Norris can gargle peanut butter and blow bubbles with beef jerky"

And some of us manage both. ;D One of my happiest cycling-fan memories (non-Andy Hampsten edition...) is the first Tour Lance won. And my second happiest would be when he retired (the first time) and let me get excited about the Tour again. 2009 was a fun race, so all is forgiven. Mostly.
