Poor old BumbleBee (ST4) has had a wee tumble yesterday, and its looking a little sad at the moment.
It all happened yesterday at aroung midday, I was on my way to work for a OH&S meeting (ironic that eh ?) so I turn left out of my driveway then right onto the road with no name, then left onto Illawarra Rd, approach the crossroads just before the main road at which I have giveway sign to go through, at this particular intersection there is a large shrub which conceals part of the road on my left, so much so that you have to enter the intersection to see if there is any traffic coming. So I rolled through, and yes there was a ute that was approaching at quite a clip, I braked, but realised that he was going to hit me amid ships, so I gunned it he was braking pretty hard and at the last moment he steered his vehicle to the left, as he did he hit the back left pannier, which punted me into the gutter on the other side of the road.
This left the bike facing the wrong way with me somehow laid on top of it with my back in the gutter. OK, I'm laying there and going through a few body checks as I loosen my helmet, I was going to take it off but decided against it, so everything seemed to be in the right places, but lots of pain in the left foot and right upper leg both felt broken. The guy in the car was excellant he phoned for the ambo's and stayed with me.
The upshot of all this is that nothing is broken just badly bruised, and I cannot walk very well at the moment, so coffee for me is out tonight guys

Thanks, I will have to get BumbleBee assessed and I'm not sure about Frasers, maybe Flywheels,or if anyone knows anyone. My eldest boy rode it home and he said that it would'nt track straight.

As everyone has said glad to know that you are okay aside from bruising to the lower limbs.

Any crash you can walk away from is a fortunate experience. Must have been your lucky day even though it mustn't have felt like it at the time.
Glad to hear your ok.

Pigmy, your alive !! Have'nt heard from you for a while, shoulders are pretty much buggard, the left as gone out in sympathy with the right, but while there is reasonable movement and not too much pain, Ill just live with it.
Anyway, I hope you all have a merry chrissy and Santa brings you something special ( If you dont believe in Santa then...... NO SOUP FOR YOU!)
Mmick
Sorry to hear that this happened to you Mick, lucky you are ok. Hope your bike gets sorted ASAP.
Cheers, Kaz. :-*
Shit mate just around the corner from your home too.
Glad your OK. Will have to pop up for a sympathy beer or coffee. [thumbsup]
As for repairers I think Flywheels is the go unless you want to repair yourself (after insurance pays you out). There is a good painter at Dapto.
You will wait forever with Frasers.
If you need the help mate my Syd office is just down the road from Flywheels. I can trailer Bumblebee up for you.

Thanks Rob, Oh, and thanks for calling in and seeing if I need anything. The bike has gone over to collideascope at Asquith and they rang me yesterday to check on a few details and told me that all the parts are in Sydney but they apologised because they wouldn't have it back to me before Christmas, I told them not to worry about that just make sure the bike is done properly. I cannot believe the standard of service that has been offered to me so far, not that I have any experience to judge them on, but just the way everyone including the insurance company has gone out of their way to make this a smooth ride. Anyway we will see how the rest pans out.
